Robbed

Sorry mate, I had this happen once its bloody horribe feeling.

If you find them pass them onto Munir Hussain and his mates give them a cricket bat and jobs a good un :p

Hope you get it all sorted

Oh ye, lets throw blacks and muslims into the list of probable suspects too

its nearly always teenagers when the only things taken are what 2-3 people can carry.

adult burglars usually steal a car.

i grew up in a rough area , half the people i knew where the type to rob houses.

Sorry to hear this :(

Was it a wooden door? might be time to get a reinforced composite door fitted to prevent it happening again. Sounds like they were in a rush so might have tried a different house if the door didn't go in in a few kicks.

UPVC, Multi-Locking door.

They must have brought a battering ram to get through a door like that? We have a flat in bristol which has had repeated attempted burglaries prevented by UPVC doors.

Bad luck though fella :(

Won't go into details but it was a design/installation fault/weakness.

Did it involve a drill? You can get hardened steel handles that shroud the barrel lock making it very hard for them to break in that way.

Then again, no matter what you do, if they want to get in the will. Its just a case of making it as hard as possible in the hope they decide its too much hassle and find an easier target.

Thats what the Police have said tonight, you'll never stop them, but you can deter them and make their lives as difficult as you can.

About this time last year we had someone rob the house. A downstairs window was left open, was only a tiny one but obviously big enough for someone to get through!

They didn't hang around very long as they "only" took two sets of car keys and my laptop :(. Luckily for me I had only recently reformatted it, so didn't lose anything precious.

The car keys were an obvious worry. We blocked one car in with my dad's and used a clamp on the other until we had the locks changed. We think the scrote came back the next night too, probably hoping to nab one of the cars. There was a proper shady looking bloke riding around the avenue on his bike really slowly at about 11pm. We went out and he soon scarpered. Judging by the tracks in the snow he had ridden past a number of times.

It really sucks to have stuff like this happen at any time of year, not just Christmas. We were lucky in that they didn't want to hang around. They could have had my dad's wallet or some jewellery, they obviously didn't see it. I wish they walked into the back room - would have tripped the alarm. We now have an alarm sensor on each window, so the alarm system throws a wobbler if we leave a window open! They are also hooked up to a vibration sensor, so much as a bee bumps into the window it will go off :p

It takes a really special kind of scum to steal Christmas presents. Anyone who robs this time of year must know they're ruining Christmas. It really grinds my gears.

Feel for you bud!

If the house isn't alarmed and secure, you'd better get it done quickly as there's a good chance they'll be back if they left that lot.

Just what Im thinking. Strange to think they left everything behind. could have got disturbed. Started first upstairs then move downstairs.

Has the door got a side panel attached to the lock side? Door enterance? Externally glazed? Just asking as Im in the UPVC Door industry.

Terrible news about the break in. Low life scum!

I remember a burglary screwing up one of my Christmases, it just feels rotten.

Sorry to hear it, hope nothing of the sort occurs again. Protecting the home is the best way. Alarm systems set off alarm bells for burglars in their minds.
