Now stripping the torso apart, the top plate is the old one the shoulders were mounted on, now I know exactly where they need to mount I made the plate at the bottom with the holes in the right place. Also re tapping holes and generally tidying up the insides.

got my micro switches through and fitted them onto the screw drive, so it'll cut the power when it gets to the end of its travel.

DSC09437.JPG

fitted up, made a few little brackets and hangers, one you can see above the motor

thats about 8 hours work, getting my head down here.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway :D

Been working on the video file. Cut up the film into the clips of Cain, then cropped the image, did this for each section, spliced together, adjusted the brightness and contrast so it looks correct on the OLED

and made a knee.

The original styrene capping on the right seemed a bit amatuer so I made 2 new ones out of delrin

Yeh I might try for some publicity when its finished.

Im still working on the other leg, not much to show really, just a mirror of the first leg, I'll post some pics soon.

Had a bit of a set back, been working on getting the oled screen in place in the head and I think I must have danaged the ribbon cable on the botom of the screen as its started to fail. lines of the display are dropping out, no chance of sending it back as ive modified it somewhat now. So i've either got to spend ANOTHER £70 or forget the whole head thing, im scared even if I get another I might screw that up too :(

ribbon cable has aparently got a tiny circuit on it, its this that might be damaged, I have another unit on is way.

Feet

DSC09509.JPG

these were a pain but finally I have a set of 4

DSC09513.JPG

again I wasnt happy with the 1st back of the foot I made so using that as a template I made 2 new ones out of a single piece of delrin. Also the little pistons were ally rod with a styrene U shape. I have now remade both side using a solid piece for each half of the piston.

all together now

Same again here, using the styrene as a prototype I machined a new set using delrin.

Impressive as usual, the attention to detail is amazing.

Out of interest are there any forums for similar builds/things being made out of aluminium from scratch? Reason I ask is I've got a little custom RC car and a couple of the bit's I wouldn't mind being aluminium instead of plastic so trying to find someone that would be able to fabricate them.

lol thats what I do! just click my sig and shoot me an email, i'll quote you.

the best thing ive seen on here creative wise

one thing thats bugging me are you when finished going to polish every part or are you doing that to every part as you fit :D

how are you implementing the nuke aswell ?

Just gonna rub the metal parts back to give a brushed look.

Not easy to photograph this as its huge!

He does balance ok on 2 feet, but obviously top heavy. I need to raise the hips and hydraulics up a bit to get him looking a bit taller.
