Have they reused a Star Wars set - or just recreated it?Sadly Robochallenge have tweeted it also, they make the house robots for the show.
Supposedly toys being released soon so guess that the BBC may hold off announcing anything on that basis.
Other than this a good time for Robot combat globally however, KoB going well, Clashbots (China again) and Battlebots both coming soon too
King of Bots is worth a look, and their KoB Season 1.5 setup looks absolutely insane... pic below is just the pits & tables for the teams
The difference getting a sponsor makes.
Is that a single layer polycarb? Just thinking what happened with Apex last season...
How do you watch it in the uk?
The only robot from the old series that made a return was that over sized tonka toy Bemouth. The problem with most of the classic robots was they were built and designed around a 99kg weight limit, by lifting the weight limit it allows for stronger armour and more powerful motors to drive spinning discs and blades, the likes of Razor, Hypodisc and Pussycat would have ended smashed to pieces if competed (the fact Razor was driven into the pits deliberately in season one tells all you need know about what chance the team thought razor had in the competition).I missed a lot of the second series. Razer featured in the first. Did chaos 2, pussycat, hypnodisc and razer return? What happened to Mortis?
As well as weight - raising the allowed voltages, brushless motors and lithium batteries has made quite a difference. The only robot from the old series that made a return was that over sized tonka toy Bemouth. The Rob Knight who helped make Mortis appeared in Battlebots and built a human robot of some sorts with moving arms, it wasn't very good but was meant more of technology showcase.

Carbide did look almost unstoppable. That new motor seemed pretty much perfect. So quick to spin up.
