Roccat Kone Mouse - Wheel Broken ...

I bought a G5 about three years ago, still going strong and gets plenty of abuse. Only thing i don't like about it is the middle mouse button is near impossible to click without scrolling or pressing the sideways buttons.

£50 is a lot for a flaky mouse.

i just recieved mine yesterday (bought from a certin auction site) so im going to be carefull with the mouse wheel. I've noticed you have to put a lot of pressure on the mousewheel to click the middle mouse button, but the left and right tilt buttons on the wheel, press very easily. Is that normal?

Yeah companies need to make sure that their producs are stable before adding a whopping price tag. Usually for that price im expecting the build quality to be good by the bare minimum and not for me to have to go through the hassle of replacing my mouse after afew weeks of use. I still say that razer are the worst for this type of thing.

*rests finger* iphones are annoying when typing large amounts of text lol

Hmmm...Had mine a week now. Brilliant mouse. Bought an IntelliMouse 3.0 from here the other day, sitting above my desk unopened, just incase my Kone decides to break.

Got one of those, and a Diamondback spare, incase mine breaks, so im not too worried.
Just out of curiosity, do Roccat have any kind of replacement service if it breaks?

They need to invent a mouse which has a laser wheel as well, then theres nothing mechanical left to break.

My G5's wheel broke after a year and I had to RMA it.

On their website it says to contact the place where you bought it from.

I just picked got a Titan Everglide mouse mat and now the mouse feels even better. Sadly though I think it is when, not if, the mouse wheel will break again.

well to avoid that, iv'e changed my middle mouse button, to the left tilt button since is much easier to click. Now i dont have to put any pressure on the button, and it shouldn't break.

My copperhead has doubleclick issues, as in, it doubleclicks on pretty much everything. I can't really complain, seeing as it's lasted 3 years of daily abuse.

Glad I bought a Deathadder for xmas, instead of the roccat.

ive had that as well. happened with the side buttons too. left mouse button on copperhead and deathadder. very annoying...

i was considering the roccat but after i read up on some of the problems and a personal friends view i decided to go with the Lachesis, i dont see what peoples problems with them are it took me a couple of days granted for adjustment and setup period but after that ive never been happier with a purchase. Shame about the robbat it was looking to be quite a nice mouse, i am eagerily going to await the Valo tho.

I wonder if my review will get posted

Yay packaged it all up to send back to OCUK today. I bought it less than a month ago, but they refuse to do an exchange for a different product lol, so it looks like I am going to be receiving someone else's refurbished one after I paid full price for a new one. And then I have to hope that it is a new revised version that will not break else I suppose I will be sending another Kone back in less than a months time. Woop dee doo I am looking forward to this.

Just posted a review of the Kone on the site, I wonder if it will be edited or just not passed at all! Below is all the details, a little harsh so I doubt it will be posted, but maybe someone will see my review here.

Review Title: Nothings Perfect!
Overall Product Rating: 2 (Given that it is fantastic, but if I have to send it away every month to swap it for one that someone else has used at my expense that knocks at least 3* from what would have been a 5* rating)

Your Review:

Exactly the same review as Edd's below but much less generous on the * rating!

As within one month my mouse wheel has broken (Not heavy use, most certainly should not have gone) and now the mouse needs to be replaced. So I need to bag it up and send it back to OCUK for a replacement which is going to have the same design flaw again! So obviously its awesome, but you have to get it serviced and replaced with someone else's refurbished one every other month so that takes the whole good mouse points away from it!

Ah well, other than that it is a flawless mouse! I am loving it, have my copperhead plugged in at the moment whilst I wait for the Kone to come back and must say I am missing the old chap already.

Again, it is annoying that the lights on the mouse do not turn off with the rest of the computer! Has me doing my bit for the environment though as I actually turn the whole thing off at the plug now though to fix this...

A message after I posted it said the message needed to be checked for security, I wonder what could be considered dangerous in the above review lol.

And in my review I refer to Edd's review which I have added below as I thought his was all true to the mouse however slightly over generous!

LOVELY MOUSE

This mouse has did everything I wanted it to do. Felt great, worked brilliantly and looked awesome. The only little problem I have had using this mouse is the lights don't turn off when you shut your pc down.

However ... becareful with that wheel ... it breaks ... (nice gaming mouse shouldn't break like that -1star)
