RoEy Watercooled Build Log

Well I've got it all up and running.

Temps for GPU: (The room was hot last night)

Idle 30
Load 38 - 42

CPU (stock speed)

Idle: mid 30's
Load: 45-50

That's with the fans on the radiator virtually off.

Only problem I have is the pump/res combo (XSPC DDC 18w Ultra Pump/Reservoir) has a high pitched noise coming from it. Not vibrating as it’s on a bit of foam. If it didn’t make that noise my PC would be completely silent :( So Frustrating. I've only had it on for around 2 hours so I'm hoping it might go after I've run it in a little.

Anyone else had this?

Lads calm down...

When I say I'm busy I actually mean it! I will really try to get some on soon but I'm having a few issues with gaming. It's not 100% finished anyway as I need to sleeve the ATX cable, so there!:D

RoEy

dudes leave him alone!!!
he's said hes busy im sure your not all gunna die in the next couple of days if it takes him that long.
he doesnt have to put them up at all be thankfull that he will :p

ps we want pics!! lol

Cheers Chuck!

The rest of you nag more than my wife!

I'll take some tonight and get them on tomorrow.

So is it all sorted and running now RoEy?

Looking foward to seeing pics of it, looks good so far though! Bit surreal seeing it with the rad in and the stock CPU cooler. :P

LOL.

Hi all,

I spent yesterday sleeving the 24 pin so that's going in tonight. I checked my camera as well and there's plenty of photos on there. I'll take some more tonight too then I'll upload them. Check back tonight!

13.06.09 Water Cooling...

Finally got some photos for you all of my first watercooled PC. I'm not going to apologise because I'm bored of doing it...:D

On a serious note, I have just found it extremely hard to find the time to get some updates done. Once I got it up and running I just wanted to Overclock and test it, hence the major delay in providing you all with photos.

I have still got a tiny few bits to do (got some black screws on order) but it’s getting there. I need to learn how to use my Nikon D80 properly too!

[email protected] 1.25VCORE 1.31VTT C0 (I know it's only a small overclock but it's my first and it's IBT Stable and 16hours Prime Stable :D)

CPU Temps: Idle - 36 - 40 Load - 55 all even core temps too, so I did a good job of mounting the HK, pheeewwww:cool:

GPU Temps: Idle 31-34 Load 38

Enough typing….

I changed the colour of the photo to show you how I see it in the flesh. It's solid black but I can't seem to get a decent picture without the flash turned on. As I said, I need to learn how to use the D80!

I have had to route the 24 pin around the tray until I redo my loop as you all the know the last attempt ending in me killing the very last wire....:(

Very tidy mate, do like the cable routing on the back of the mobo tray.

Just need to get the DVD drive black (easy enough to spray) and definately braid the 6 and 8 pin cables for the graphics card.

Other than that top job there :)

Cheers mate!

As you mention, I do have a few bits left to do. More sleeving...

Thanks a lot for your help mate, you've been great.

Amazing...well done mate. Fantastic...that Koolance GPU block looks the business...and my daze you got damn good temps on it...I am using an XSPC one on mine and altho I idle at 36C, it can hit 60C when playing Crysis. But then my room is really really warm...I guess thats the price I pay for having too many PCs in one room and the sun shining right into my room for most of the day lol. But come winter time all that should change :D again well done RoEy :)

Thanks mate! Really pleased you like it and I'll get some better photos of it soon. Looks so mucher nicer in the flesh. I've yet to play crysis on it so no doubt the temps will rise but I guess thats the beauty of having a fan controller.:D

Can't wait to see what temps will be in winter. I was idling at 29 the other day when it was cooler!

RoEy

See 29 is what I hope to see come winter time :D lol...so with the fan controller is that for the fans on the rad? I was thinking of getting one but I have no room left on my 1200 for any slots as its all used up and I aint modder by any means so I cant really mod on into my case. Thanks :D

LOL.

First 4 channels control the 4 fans on rad and channels 5 & 6 control top 2 fans. I have the motherboard controlling the front HDD fan and rear two, which are going at 800rpm.

It's extremely quiet.

RoEy

so why do people have more then one loop then?

And how many components can I cool in a loop before it gets stupied?

Sorry about thread jacking RoEy

No problem at all mate.

I asked all the same questions you're asking now. Infact, I asked a silly amount of questions and I'm sure PaulyD would vouch for that.:D I spent a year researching and I'm glad I did. It took me a good 2 days to build the water cooling as I triple checked everything and then triple checked again. I refused to make a mistake.

With regards to your question; that's why I went with the quad radiator as it can obiviously dissipate more heat so I can comfortably cool cpu and gpu in the same loop. I have a strong pump too which will move the water around the loop faster, which again helps for cooling.

People have dual loops so they can either cool more components or improve cooling by cooling components seperately.
