RoEy Watercooled Build Log

Looks amazing RoEy!

Thinking it's about time I got a slightly better desktop, still running a P4 on a socket 478 motherboard. :P

Doubt I can afford WC though, just a nice little AC machine, with an E5200 or something similar.

Go for it!

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but aren't your exhaust fans sucking air into the case?

The rear fans are pulling air in and the top two are pulling air out, as heat rises. Got them at 700rpm. The fans on the rad are pulling cold air through it and back out the otherside and I think they're going at 500rpm roughly.

Yeh, I've got the bug now, just need to scrape some funds together. :P

Have you overclocked it much yet? Noticed in you're sig it's at 3.4ghz, do you reckon you can get it any higher?

Hi Muel,

I could get it a lot higher mate but it was my first overclock and to be honest it absolutely flies, so for now I'm happy sitting at 3.4. I might be tempted to get D0 around Crimbo though...:D

I should imagine I'll get the bug again soon and take it up to 3.8 / 4 if the cpu allows me too.;)

What a build. Seriously. Very subtle instead of all those bright colours i usually associate with watercooled builds.

Yes it is all nice, sleek, tidy and uniform :) good build RoEy.

Cheers moppy and waynio!

I've just put the black screws in which really makes a difference. Going to sleeve gpu power too then learn how to take better pics!

I didn't want to go for the bright colours as my main priority was cooling performance. Subtle sums it up perfectly.

Really pleased you both like it.;)

Dude, I was just loitering in the forums when I came across your build....

I must say its very very SEXY indeed mate.

I'm tempted to have a go too, since I will be building a new rig soon, but I know what I'm like, and I always start really strong then loose patience with myself.....

Congrats tho dude, awesome dude, very batmobile like :)

EDIT: Is the case used a Silverstone Fortress? Thanks

Hi Meds,

Thanks for your comments mate. I've taken some better pics recently so I'll get them on soon. If you're thinking about building a water cooled system mate then just take your time, do plenty of research before you build it and then you can't go wrong.

If you need any help mate just ask.

Stripped water cooling yesterday due to upgrades being made.

Here's whats to come:

• White tubing

• White cathodes

• New side panel with smaller window cut

• New topgrill from murder mod

• Sleeve PCI-E cables

• Re-sleeve rear fans

• Spray dvd drive

• Get 920 d0 stepping

I'll post pics when its all done. Expecting it to take 2-3 weeks.

Hopefully receive my bits by the weekend but I'm still waiting for the MurderMod topgrill. Been waiting 2 weeks now. :(

Been a long coming everyone and I do apologise for that but boy have I had some bad luck. Anyway, I rebuilt it all over the weekend, brand new rad tfc 480, new pump mcp355 18w and xspc res, HeatKiller nickelplated, new side panel and topgrill.

PC at 4ghz, 920 d0.

Pics arent great as I need a tripod but will give you an idea. Just need to sleeve the gpu power cables and it's done....for now.:D

She's back....
