ROG CROSSHAIR VI HERO

Mines been fine running at the default settings and I have had it at 2666 by just selecting it and that also seems fine, though you could try upping the voltage as mentioned above. I'm going to try that to see if I can get above 3.8ghz as when ever it crashes its the DRAM led that is on.

Out of interest is anyone else using multi gpu setups? wondering if the two cards being plugged in could be a problem.

Here's my findings so far. This is written from memory as I am at work now.

Asus CH6 - 0902 Bios
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black CMK16GX4M2B32
Ryzen 1700

Here's my findings.

Booted up straight away on defaults. Memory defaulted to 2133 and the system booted fine.
The system will not post using a memory speed above 2666, I need to manually set the RAM timings for this to work to boot at 2666 however the system is not stable even using these settings. Hopefully a BIOS update will fix the memory issues.

I have currently settled on the following for now:

36 Multiplier
108 Bclock
2133 Memory Setting - Which gets small boost from the Bclck setting of 108.

Memory Speeds are set on auto and it defaults to : 15-15-15-36 1T

CPU Speed is 3888 or something for which I just put in 1.35 Vcore, I will try lowering this over time but its fine for now. CPU-Z Reports 1.330vcore.

However, the CPU temperature readings are all over the place. Ryzen master reports 3c which is what the BIOS also reports. Whilst i know the Noctua D15s is a superb cooler i'm not sure it's that good :)

I did try AIDA Extreme and that shows 34C idle and maxed out at around 47c running prime which sounds incredibly low although more accurate than the BIOS.

I played BF1 for around 90 minutes using the above and it worked perfect. when I tried the 2666 setting on the memory, I could run real bench, cinebench but then couldn't get BF1 to load into the menus!!

Thanks, I hope they release a new update swiftly...
Ask and thee shall recieve! two bios's out

Alright, BIOS updating time. This version has reverted DRAM settings to 5803 behavior (1T mode), but I also have a test BIOS which keeps 0902 behavior (2T mode) for those who saw improvements there. It also fixes the low temperature reporting and FanXpert OS control.

Unfortunately the new one doesn't se4em to do all that much, but would be nice to go back to 1T.

What I would like to see, not limited to just this board:
  • Update that improves Hynix RAM compatibility and speeds.
  • Full memory timing configuration
  • Aura settings that work
  • Confirmation on what the actual temperature is and what would be classed as too hot
  • My ******* Corsair AM4 bracket!
  • Windows patching or AMD microcode/drivers that improve W10 performance

1. Yep, I'm hopeful though as I was able to run 3200 at 1T on 5308
2. elmor mentioned this got taken off them prelaunch by AMD but they are asking for it back.
3. mines working? whats up?
4. This ties into the fan issue. Their software only allowing to set profiles up to 75c reported when theres a 20C offset for X processors really isnt ideal. Think 75C (real) is what its supposed to be though.
5. yep!
6. yep!

I set to static white in the software and off when the PC is turned off (setting in BIOS for that) and it's currently rainbow whilst it's off right now.... If I try and set it again, it'll be on white whilst off and off when I boot up. So I've given up for now.

How are people changing the aura settings? I tried the windows app but it crashes when it starts. I would like to be able to turn off the lights when I power the pc down (turning it off at the wall at the moment) but have them do something when the pc is on. I have never used this aura stuff so no idea what it can do.

oh weird. I've just stuck it to rainbow for off and red when on and it seems fine.

Aura app works for me I'm afraid.

As an aside.

Back up to 3200mhz on the RAM using bios 1001! using hynix, manual timing input and 1.35v.

I actually found better stability with my memory at 1T. so 1001 works best for me. After I updated to 0902, I was having to reset my bios every morning, and then give my computer an hour or so to warm up before loading my 3.8ghz OC. With this 1001 bios, it seems to load up first time.

Yeah same. There were people I think with 2x16gb sticks that had a better time on 2T/0902 but I wasn't one of them either. Back to rated speeds and 1T command line for me.

More from Elmor

There will be an update BIOS with new AGESA in 1-2 weeks.

AGESA being the bootstrap that holds all of the stuff (SOC/Memory/Bus) together from a quick google.

Cool will try 1001 tonight and see how it goes. Hopefully this is just the start of many improvements a board at this price should get.

Got my C6H today, used the USB flashback to go to 902 before powering up and all is well so far. I did not bother re-installing Window, just put the m.2 drive in and booted and activated. Still have some drives to put in to the pc and sort the cables out. I used an AM3 back plate and a H100i V2. It looks like the block was not even touching the CPU but temps are good so it must be.

well ive just put mine together and im getting the qcode error 0d plus blank screen ch6 1800x gskill 16gb 3200 ram any ideas before I rma it
