ROG CROSSHAIR VI HERO

Couldn't get past the b2 error with a different kit of ram unfortunately and i also tried using a different gpu. So stuck what to do do now gone back to my old stuff for the time being

Did you try booting before updating the BIOS

Yea i didn't really come along this issue until last night. I wasn't originally getting this motherboard, so didn't read much into it. But was fed up of waiting on the other one so i changed my mind

Yeah, the bios file has to be renamed C6H.CAP and the usb stick has to use a certain slot.

Don't apply power but you need the power plugged in and the normal standby lights on. Don't think you even need a CPU/ram fitted.

Just another quick question, do you have hold down the button for the update to start and does the button stop flashing at any point?

Yeah you hold it for a few seconds, it will flash a few times to show its started then it'll go back to normal, but your usb stick will still be working. Honestly cant remember if the button stays lit during the process or not, sorry.

Same with the clear csmos button next to the bios update button. you press for a few seconds, the button will flash, you'll see the boards standby lights turn off then it'll come back on as normal.

You need to hold it down for 3 secs, it will then flash and I'm pretty sure it flashes during the update and then stops once its done (at least that's how I read the manual). I just gave it 5 mins after that to be sure and that worked for me.

Yes format it as fat32 and the 0902 is the one to get (unless the new one is out by the time you use it) Think its the only one on the asus site now.

I updated mine this afternoon , yea you plug your stick into the usb that says bios and press the bios button for 3 secs, it flashes slowly for a while whilst its updating, mine then flashed fast for short period then stopped, and all was good :)

Had it running fine earlier when i tried out my 950 gtx on it. Now the 1080s are back in im getting issues again and i've put them back under water.

Got mine up and running last night, updated the BIOS over USB just fine.

Then spent the rest of the evening bewildered with options for how i squeeze performance from my CPU and more so getting my Vengeance LPX 16GB 3200 RAM to run at anything over 2666mhz... Didn't manage it, even feeding it 1.5v, no POST.

In another post some people said i need to increase SOC VCORE to 1.1.

Has anybody had any luck with the Corsair 3200 in getting it to run at default SPD and timings?

Also if there a beginner's guide to overclocking the CH6/Ryzen? TY

Is the Corsair Vengeance LPX Samsung or Hynix? I have Corsair Vengeance LED 3200MHz and it's Hynix so I can't get beyond 2666MHz because this launch is a ******* mess.

Make sure the RAM is running 1.35v and set the SOC to 1.1v - 1.15v (no higher, though 1.2v should be safe, but shouldn't be required).

So if I install the RAM and just leave it to it's default settings I should be fine for now until issues are sorted?
