Saw it last night with the Mrs - we're both big SW fans - and we loved it. As many have said, the darker, grittier tone with no real concession toward targeting children made it that much more enjoyable.
As much as TFA exceeded my expectations, I thought Rogue One was much more faithful to the source material and only really included one thing I found jarring.
Why were the AT-AT's so easy for the X-wings to destroy? We all know "That armour's too thick for blasters".
I'm assuming they're an earlier model than seen in Empire, but in that case more could have been done to make them look like earlier versions.

Loved it all! Just got back from it did take abit to get going but even the early parts were still interesting! Kso2 I loved his attitude his lines fit it perfect imo. 2nd part of film just wow. The fight scenes on the beach aswell as the x wing blitzing past the camera work was great. If I had to chose something to nit pick it was that the opening was not the wall of star wars text kinda felt odd it being missing
I also noticed they were blue lined x wing so I suspect they shot the ion shots which are for taking them down, by empire strike backs I think they will of lost em all.
the blue lines was because they were blue squadron. The u wing took one down shooting the hell out of its knees with all that can be described as an ion weapon, but they are not explosive weapons so was a bit weird to SW lore. Still awesome though
Another was exploded In Half its side doors were open/exposed. The first one to blow up was wrecked by the 2 xwings strafing it. I'm no expert but that's meant to be a massive amount of power if it's all transferred into the weapons. I played a lot of xwing vs tie fighter lol
I read somewhere that some of the atats are cargo varients AT-ACT? Something with a c
They had big orange containers or doors? In their mid section.
Are there no books released on the technical info yet?
still disappointed that I can recall the music from the Phantom Menace but not a single track in this and lack of the Star Wars theme when the credits rolled....

Well that was absolutely awesome, completely loved it. The darkness, the gritiness, the final 40 minutes, Vader, everything was just brilliant. Can't wait to see it again soon.
I thought Jyn would be in fact Leia. Jyn would find out she was one of the twins near end of the film. Anyone notice how they refered to the Jedi as "her" in the film
finally we have a scene to truly show how terrifying Vader was in battle.
Something the originals could not capture fully. They hinted at it and showed glimpses of it but to actually see Vader going into full on Beast mode was something special.
