Rome 2 : Total War

Yeah, it does get a little buggy but it’s far better than Vanilla which is nothing special at all.

TBH, I am looking at Rome Total War Remastered again and some of the mods coming out on there, especially Surrectum.

I did have a look but am not really looking to make things more complex for the sake of it, I don't have a huge amount of time to game these days so would love to understand the game some more so I can hop on for an hour and go through some turns.
No probs, guide on Steam here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=470231187.

When I played it I went on very hard campaign and normal/hard battles.

Generally I found lowering taxes by 1 and focus on trade and farm building first with one city for unit production.

Send spy out to meet other factions and get trade agreements, try to sell them for money.

Deploy the statesmen agent in your capital region and focus on commerce buffs.

Small Navy is very useful for ramming stacks of transport ships the enemy send at you.

Don’t be afraid to reduce battle speed to slow, it helps a lot.

Watch some battle videos, think ai generals are suicidal in Rome 2 so try nail them first.

As far as management of settlements goes, keep a very close eye on food early on, building some upgrades consumes food and a food shortage can derail you very quickly.Keeping an eye on taxation and food production in regions is a good habit.
