Rome 2 : Total War

I am really hoping they have worked on CPU usage in Rome 2. It seems bonkers that a game such as this only uses one core in this day an age.

So sad to see my 2500k being stressed to the max on one core and all the others doing nothing : /

GPU wise i have a second 670 coming on Monday for SLI so i should have that covered :D

Feeling a little uneasy... im guessing GMG don't tell you when an item is posted or if they do I wont be getting mine on release day...

I am the same. I pre-ordered a boxed copy about a month ago and from day 1 it had it in transit, but have had no official conformation that GMG have posted it.

Spoke to them on their facebook page and a guy told me they would be posted Monday at midday. I raised a ticket to get a refund so I could purchase a digital copy on Friday, to be told by their customer service rep that it had infact been posted already.

I think they have not been sent yet and if they do post them, as the guy on facebook said, on Monday at midday the chances of me getting it by Tuesday is slim to none.

Hmmm I wont be to happy but as some on here would say "you get what you pay for" and as I got it for £23 I bet it will be late xD

I am not too fussed if it isn't here by midday as I am working 12 hour shifts Mon to Wednesday, so in some ways would be beneficial if it didn't turn up til I got home Wednesday.

I then have 7 days off to really get into it!!

Just don't understand why they leave it so late to post boxed copies of the game? With it being steam it's not like you can play it early.

Somew of you are nuts if you can run Shogun 2 flat out your be fine with this game. CA are trying to attract a bigger crowd this time round not alienate everyone unless you have a super pc.

An i5 2005k with say 8 gig of ram and a 570gtx, 580gtx, 560, 660, 670, 680, 760, 770, 780 your going to be fine. Also any amd card that matches up. You may not be running Ultra everything and supoer high levels of AA.

But your have a very good experience with a lot of effects turned up.

Anyway the most important part of this game is CPU. The battles will be CPU bound the map will be GPU.

if Rome2 runs like shogun 2 did for me then i will be disappointed.

huge CPU bottleneck due to poor optimization.

Do we know what spec machines they used in the demo's and the recent Macedon campaign walk through?

Worried my 7850 wont cut it

Developer machines are usually completely top notch, something like an i7 3970X with a 5.5+Ghz OC and 3-4 780s/7970s etc.

It's a good way to demo and release a game without anybody knowing how badly optimised it is. Hopefully CE are better this time around as it's the same engine that Shogun 2 was on, and lots of people complained directly to them about how **** poor it ran.

I have this set-up and Shogun 2 isn't smooth. I don't have high hopes for Rome 2.

Humans are one of the few species on earth that can learn from their mistakes, lets hope they do. ;)

No matter how it runs out of the box, i know that come Tuesday I'll be gushing praise to any that would care to listen.

There's not many games where one can run over a Spartan with an elephant.
