That was my reaction when I saw it. I think it does primarily come off the shin no? On that basis it's pure luck and not possible to pull that off 99 times out of 100 attempts. Is a lucky shot the best goal he has ever scored? Not really. Spectacular yes, but pure luck how it left his leg off the shin still at that pace. Good technique obviously but pure luck.

I'm glad someone else thinks the same. As a piece of individual skill it easily tops any long shot or overhead kick that people fawn over, but because it was Bolton and a pretty average player, it won't get the constant love that Rooney's gets.

Bolton scored the best individual goal AND the best team goal (Mark Davies vs Blackpool) of the season. Go figure.
