Roy's massively underachieving with the players he has at his disposal so I don't think any money has to be spent in January to get us back up the table.

I'd like to see Dalglish appointed until the summer and then either make it permanent or employ someone else based on how well he does. Whether he can hack it nowadays remains to be seen but he can't do any worse than Hodgson has done and he'll certainly be in a better position to deal with the pressure than he was when he quit.

I think they got hitched in a secret ceremony a little while ago and are taking some time off. It's a brilliant cover up they've been doing the past few years as 'Chelsea' and 'Man Utd' fans, in reality, they spend every weekend at the Emirates, even when Arsenal don't play as they say the view is extremely romantic.
 
Personally, I think Hodgeson is better than most Scouse is giving him, but what does a Londerner opinion matter? I tell you waht though, the worst appointment that could be given, is Dalglish, I'd rather Sammy Lee tham Dalglish, The Premier Leaugue has come come a long way since he Stuart Ripleys retarded run won the league.

Give Hodgesone a few more months. He is he most respected English manager, and he was left with a ridiculoud squad minus Gerrard and Torres.

Oh yeah, its all the squads fault! I completely understand now.
And there i was thinking the problem might just be because we now play a 8-1---------------------------------1 formation. With no pace, no pressuring, no trying to counter attack, no trying to score at all. Oh and then Roy comes out with a gem of "Our problems are because we are attacking too much" :rolleyes:

And thats just the start!
Press: Rafa is un-willing to change formation or make a sub before 60 mins, his methods are out-dated.
But Roy rarely ever makes a change before 75 mins, and i dont think we've ever played anything other then sit in our own half formation football so far.

Then there's the freezing out of Agger, our best defender, because Roy wants to play HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOF football.

Roy then states we'll be okay, and are capable of scoring goals, and points to the OT game as proof.
Fact is, a good friend and United ST holder was there. He said Roy spent the entire second half ordering Gerrard to drop back infront of the defence, even when we had posession.
Good job Gerrard didnt take any notice and actually pushed up to support the damn striker! otherwise it would have been even more humiliating.

What else? Oh yeah. Trying to blame the fans protest against the owners for the teams bad performances, supporting G+H and asking us to take our agenda elsewhere. Yeah that was smart.

Oh, and im looking forward to getting <Sweary> by Napoli on thursday! :( Hamsik is on fire.

There's at least 10 other issues i have, but im all ranted out before breakfast.

When will people learn, what managers say to the press isn't necessarily the truth. Rafa last year didn't come out and say Liverpool have no shot at 4th, what he says to the press has to be the same message as to the plays, you're improving, you're playing better, we can get 4th, we can do this.

Why on earth do supporters expect him to come out and say, that was terrible, I can't see any reason Maxi is still a professional footballer, then expect to somehow get more out of him in training and in the next game?

As for Liverpool, I saw a stat suggest that every single liverpool player had a higher passing success rate than any Everton player. THe problem was Evertons attacks looked dangerous, with even the lazy bum that is Yakubu looking a threat, while your wingers are a joke and gave zero service, zero pace, zero threat and the disinterested looking Torres isn't any help either.

Agger said he's being frozen out, or is quoted as such, he also didn't say(if the quote is accurate) that Roy wants him to hoof it, he said he wants him to get the ball up the field QUICKLY, rather than pass to Caragher, to think about passing forwards, just to pass it back to Agger, thats slow, quickly doesn't mean hoof it. Hoof it means hoof it, quickly means quickly, we have no idea what Roy asked him to do.

As for not making changes, Rafa had several years to know his players, try new idea's and get "his" method down yet still didn't know how to change things. Roy doesn't know his players, his players are LEARNING a new setup, a new underlying method, they won't do this without game time. How will they learn a new system if Roy panicks and makes a change 30 minutes into a game.

Liverpool were shockingly bad in the first half, yet had a decent amount of posession, and were making passes, there was just nothing in the final 3rd at all. Wingers + strikers aren't clicking in the slightest.

Joe Cole IS crap, theres a reason not a single chelsea fan gave a crap he left, theres a reason money bags owner didn't want to give him 100k a week. Maxi, laughable, only reason he's playing is Babel cares more about his rapping career than football.


Liverpool can't counter attack with with slow ass Maxi on the wing, who can't cross or pass, with Joe Cole who can't hit a barn door on the other wing.

Why are so many liverpool fans convinced the squad should be doing better.

If you take out 6 of Barca's first team and stick in 6 crap players, the other 4 decent players won't play nearly as well as usually, thats life.

Gerrard, Torres(whose been crap since LONG before Rafa left), potentially the portuguese, and Reina. Konchesky is average at best, Johnson quite literally can't defend, Maxi, Babel, Lucas, Caragher. You've got a few players surrounded by crap. Mascherano and Alonso were the absolute spine of the team, they were holding together both the offence and defence and without both, both have gone to crap.

This is us under Roy. Torres is isolated up top on his own, and is asked to spend all day running the channels but without any support.
Theory is - he holds up play untill the AMC/Wingers can catch up.
Offensively, that is it. One of our fullbacks dare pass the halfway line? they get yelled at. Every game he has played this season, Johnson has been balled at to get back into position consistency. Konchesky is playing as he is expected to, and how Roy wants Glen to.
Our entire back line is sitting on our own penalty box, and our holding midfield players only slightly ahead.
When Gerrard plays in CM, he is yelled at to stay deep to collect the ball and spray passes (to who i hear you ask? well under Roy's tactics 99% of the time it has to go left or right). On occasion he ignores him and Roy is going ape because he's "leaving holes".

Unfortunately the above is true, if you (Not that i expect you will, not being a pool fan :p) ever get seated close enough to the tech area to hear him, you will know he is tactically out of his depth with Liverpool.
He only wants Torres and the two "wide" men to attack, even the 'second striker' is only allowed into the edge of the centre circle. And those wingers have to get up to support torres from exceptionally deep. Roy expects him to pull a Zamora and fend off 4 defenders for 10 seconds without a single person supporting for him to pass to. Not going to happen.

The squad SHOULD be doing better. Theres poor players there in the squad, like the Poulsens and the Maxis and the Thierry Babels, but even then they are better than relegation zone players.

When you look at this 11 ,

Reina
Konchesky, Agger, Carragher, Johnson
Jovanovic, Gerrard, Meireles, Cole
Kuyt, Torres

Thats a team which SHOULD be doing better than bottom 3. Now its far from quality and perhaps thats only good enough for 14th, but nevertheless it SHOULD be doing better than bottom 3.
 
News coming in that Roy has banned Kenny from attending LFC games. Starting with Napoli.

100% agree. The team is much better than out league position. That's one thing Hodgson can't hide from or blame on others.

IF true it would suggest there is something seriously wrong at management level and questions are being asked of Hodgson from within. I can't imagine they were arguing about who gets the best seat on the team bus.

Hodgson has two games at most to put in a couple of good performances and gain some authority. Otherwise he must go. Any manager in the football league could have got the results Hodgson has so far this season.

From RAWK - take with a pinch of salt. But it does make sense .. especially regarding "this is anfield" phone in, which was banned from being shown on the repeat at request of Roy.

Just spoke to my mate who works at LFC TV channel. He says Roy's interview yesterday was so srange they are not allowed to show it or post any transcripts. he says that when asked about the Napoli game he says its an utter distraction and waste of time for him.

He also said that Napoli fans were deliquents who hurl bricks at the coach. Went onto talk about his time when visiting Napoli with Inter saying that a mother and daughter gave the team middle finger coming out of a church.

Mate seems to think his interview was incredibly strange, controversial and backwards. Its been banned.

My mate also stated that during the wekend LFC phone in the editors were instructed by Anfield hierachy to encourage calers to vent utter frustrations and emotions. Sometimes he says the channel like to select callers that have milder liberal views but apparenly the owners wanted it totally uncensored to and watched it so they could ge a feel for fans opinions.
