Did read Frank Rijkaard's name being in line for the Liverpool job as he is looking for a escape route from his nightmare in Turkey.

A part of be thinks he could do a good job & play attacking football ( what we all want to see). Apart from the good job he did at Barcelona what else has he really done? An with the players they have there it would be a bit hard NOT to do a good job.

Which will still be imo a bad decsion to have him on the list and if he got it worse, id much rather Dalglish took it over till end of season and they did a full proper search for a manager and not a rush job which is what Roy was.

It's not that simple. On one hand it's always best to change manager in the close season as you have more time and most probably far more options available to you however I'm not sure we can afford to wait that long if we are to make a change.

If this season isn't going to be a total write off then we've got to look to improve the squad in January and there's no way we'll give any significant amount to Dalglish (or any other part-time manager) to spend only for another manager to take over in the summer.

You have a point. Eto'o, Ronaldinho in his prime, an up-coming Messi, younger Xavi. would have been difficult to fail.

Then again, with Gerrard and Torres we find ourselves in the relegation zone so anything is possible.

I glanced quickly and got my hopes up.

:o:D

That'll be the day.

Meireles impressed me at the weekend actually. His shooting from range wasn't the best, however he did get them all on target.

He looked the best player Liverpool had.

As much i'd love Kenny to come in, I just cant see him doing well, he's been out of the game too long. Out of the old boys, I's rather have Tosh come in, he could placate the spanish lads aswell, he didnt do a bad job in spain tbh.

Strange that he played well when played in his position. Liverpool need to forget the gerrard 2nd striker experiment and put him midfield with Meireles and put the serb up front.

I dont know, he may have been out of the game in terms of active management, but he has been involved in the sport virtually nonstop, I'd wager his knowledge of the game and players is still as sharp as ever. Tosh I'm not sure of, he has been very hit and miss in his management career.

@CallCollymore RUMOUR.Not a definite by any means but i'm hearing a rumour that Roy Hodgson has been sacked by #lfc Checking credibility.

Seeing this being tweeted about, Would love for it to be true, doubt it though :(

I'm guessing there are quite a few rumours about at the moment, I've read in several places lately that his number will be up if we lose to Blackburn.

If Dalglish takes over to the end of the season. does he spend your £40m that you may be given.

Just wondering because when the new manager you suggest comes in, surely he would want funds too?

The way I see it - Liverpool have little funds even under new ownership.

I guess it depends what the criteria is for Dalglish during the interim period, if his criteria is just to stablise us , get us up the table, maybe into europe, he could do that (or should be able to at least) without needing to spend £40m.
