Roy Hodgeson

I must have say I have to agree, a lot of posts have been half on topic, I will make this the absolute last chance

The topic id RH management style and his future, not the performance of individual players etc

TBH I may get another Don to look at it as I just get accused of bias by some folks if I make decisions on Liverpool related threads

In fairness, most of the discussion going on in here revolves around Roy Hodgson in one way or another, so its not really a proper club thread in my eyes.

Its inevitable there will be club related discussions cropping up here and there but it isn't doing anyone any harm.

Let the poor Liverpool fans rant away :p

Ok let's bring this back on topic.

I'm getting sick of Hodgson's excuses and defeatism. Every couple of days he comes out with a fresh load of waffle about how there's no quick fix and rebuilding takes time etc etc etc. For a start how does he think that’s going affect the currently players? Gerard, Torres and Reina must be chomping at the bit to hang around for a few more seasons of mid table football. He needs to start being a bit more positive.

Dose he not understand that you don't get time for free at this level. You have to make your own time by showing progress, especially when you’re so far behind your rivals. It's been one step forward, two steps back and his impact has been negligible. The most disappointing thing is I've not seen us play any good football in any competition all season. It's been consistently sloppy, disjointed and toothless.

He maybe a great manager but I'm not prepared to wait 2-3 seasons for results to materialise. It’s time the board started making way for his departure.

15 December: "They made me see sense"
I thought it would be a nice game for him (Torres) and a chance for him to get his confidence back. But I also had a talk to our fitness people and they made me see sense that it wasn't the wisest thing to do. And of course it would be very bad for us if he picked up an injury. The same applied to Pepe Reina. They made me see sense, I listened to the reason around me and I changed my mind.

Does this read to anyone else as "I was told I couldn't play them as if they get injured we couldn't sell them in January"?

Liverpool threads are allowed :p

It took Fulham a while (3/4 months iirc) to come round to Woy and his ways.

Might take longer for the players at 'pool.

I'd still stick with him until the summer when you can have a summer of rebuilding.

I wouldn't say this thread has gone off topic more than any other thread does. 99% of posts are directly related to Hodgson and the odd post that isn't is usually to do with players that Hodgson has signed, which is sort of related anyway.

Wouldn't it just be easier to ban Tummy? He's either baiting you or failing to be funny, both offenses are worthy of a ban.

Right, so if we had a thread called Fergie where we discussed the games Fergie managed, and the signings Fergie had made and the future signings Fergie might make and the tactics that Fergie employed and the chances that the side that Fergie managed would win the premiership....would that be ok?

Thread should be closed not on rule infringement but on the principle of BaZ87 taking up 97% of it disagreeing with people pointing out that Livermule were grainy scat-residue before Woy took over.

:o

You agree with DM and his apprentice? Rotty should ban you too :p

Might as well ban all the Mancs tbh. The world would be a better place.

I personally don't have an issue with club threads so yes. I'm not sure that it would be quite the same as this thread though.

Nope, just think that when joining the Hodgeson-hating manlove pyramid Scousers should remember the problems pre-existing Hodgeson, the foremost of which is that Liverstool are now as ****-poor as the urine-filled bottles thrown out of the Kop End. :p

I don't think anybody has forgotten our issues before Hodgson took the job. This thread is more to do with the fact that Hodgson was never the right man to take us forward and in fact has done worse than most thought was even possible.

Unfortunately some people ignore that and think Liverpool fans expected Hodgson to win the league.

Okay, to be fair I think there has been a rather even hand in these threads given that there's occasionally a 'Glazers ruining United GRAB YER GREEN AND GOLD AND LETS SHOW EM from our seats at the Stretford End' or such thread and it's allowed to run itself out of steam without closure.

Perhaps the fact that no other bigger club is really in crisis is more revealing of the recent trend in Quiverpool threads rather than some double standard?

Me neither, see no reason why they shouldn't be allowed but if they're banned for one they should be banned for all :p

They are :p

This thread has been created to discuss Hodgson's performance as Liverpool manager and whether or not he should have got the job/still be in a job.

You get the odd post that goes off topic but it's not like this thread has been used to discuss specific games, players, injuries etc. The majority of the posts are directly linked to why or why not Hodgson should be Liverpool manager.
