Liverpool was becoming a mess before Hodgson arrived so let him have a fair crack, especially where the new owners are now in place.

I was just about to say, he was sacked and replaced by Benitez who couldnt match his league finishes whilst spending more.

Ged spent way way more NET then Rafa. As i have said a million times, its no surprise what happens to a squad when you have to sell 3 to fund 1.

Own up, your just trying to get us relegated! :p

Rafa Benitez's iron defence
Sunday, 17 October 2010

With just three goals conceded in seven league games, Inter's defence is the best in the 2010/11 Serie A. The last time the Nerazzurri let in so few goals in the first seven rounds was in 1988/89, the record-breaking season of Giovanni Trapattoni's Inter. Not since 2005/06, when Juventus conceded two goals in their first seven games, has a defence made such a good start to a Serie A season. (Source: Football Data)
This guy seems good! I wonder how much it would take to sign him to replace Roy 0 : )

@pbarclaytimes you and your cohorts really need to put a stop to this pro-Hodgson agenda, it is painfully transparent. We are not stupid.

His reply was:

pbarclaytimes Patrick Barclay

@iamarealist Oh yes you are.

Lol, its all kicking off in Twitter land :D

Houllier's record:

1999 7th
2000 4th
2001 3rd
2002 2nd
2003 5th
2004 4th

Rafa's Record:

2005 5th
2006 3rd
2007 3rd
2008 4th
2009 2nd
2010 7th

As has already been pointed out Ged had a higher net spend. People love to bash Rafa but until his last season he was doing very well.

Roy on other hand isn't.

He does seem to be in denial if he thought they played well today. Does he still think he's managing Fulham?

I bet he wishes he was - At least they're looking like they may win games.

Ultimately the results are the responsibility of the manager - So he probably only has a few games left

But your big name players aren't pulling their weight. I can see Blackburn beating you at Anfield too

What can our supposed big name players do when the tactics are so wrong?
Its no coincidence we looked best after going 2-0 down yesterday, and Roy for the first time ever pushed the defence up 15 - 20 yards.
Roy's keeping the defence basically on the edge of its own pen box, and the midfield then sits about 5 yards infront of that that leaves Torres to fight and fend vs 4 players all the time.
In the last 15 mins Torres had 3 reasonable shots on goal (All blocked, but still), he never even got into the opposition penalty box for the rest of the game.

Torres is not Zamora, he wont be able to collect the ball and fend of the entire opposition team for ~15 seconds untill a midfielder and the wide - players catch up.

In a few weeks time its Chelsea v Liverpool. If things havent turned around by then and we then get hammered by Chelsea, I could see it being the last match for Hodgson.

Who do the fans want in?

Allardyce is being banded around - but he's no better.

Dalglish?

Hodgson took Fulham on well last year, he could still turn this around,

but I thought he was rubbish at Blackburn.

Martin O Neil would be my choice If i was a LFC fan

But whoever comes in it will take time to sort this mess out. The January transfer window is a long way off and the rumoured £40m will not go far.

I'd happily take Dalglish in the short term while a long term appointment is decided upon.

Its possible that Hodgson could actually turn things around, the trouble now though is that so many fans are disillusioned with him that it might prove difficult to get those fans back on side so to speak.

I wouldnt want Allardyce, although I like him as a manager I just dont think it would be a good fit.

Martin O'neill...well, I actually dont like the guy, but I would have to say he would look like the obvious choice. He'd have money to spend, he is a good motivator and on top of that thanks to his time at Celtic , he knows about handling a team where the fan base expects to win matches, also from my viewpoint he tends to be a much more attacking minded manager whereas I find Hodgson/Alladyce too defensive for my liking, we've had a lot of defensive managers in the last decade and I'd quite like something more forward going styled. He tends to be a bit volatile and out spoken, but maybe that would be good after a nice guy manager.

Hodge chases Dane, Reina wants out
http://www.sport.co.uk/news/Football/44992/Reina_wants_out_as_Hodgson_joins_Great_Dane_chase.aspx

Probably crap but .. i wouldnt put it past him.

I'd be quite surprised if Reina is unsettled, he has always been very firm about his love of being at Liverpool. If Reina is indeed unsettled and thinking of leaving then its even more imperative that change comes sooner rather than later. He is one player that I absolutely do not want to leave, I'd actually rather see Gerrard or Torres leave before seeing Reina leave.

I hate Liverpool.

BUT.

Personally I think there is nothing wrong with the squad, its their mentality.

They've heard it all, seen it all regarding the debt/takeover in press + tv (for the scouse players who can't read ;) ).

It's surely going to affect them, for christ sake Blackpool are a poorer side but look at the way they are playing!!

It's all excuses, and because Hodgson is a completely different manager to that spanish waiter people are being extremely unfair towards him.

It's all about time, which he isn't been given by the fans/press.
