Royal Mail Special Delivery 1pm Guaranteed

Please don't do this to people. Ask them if it's ok first.

When I get Hermes emails/messages from senders my heart sinks as I have about a 50% rate with them as to whether I actually receive the item and within the remaining 50% a good chunk turns up in a state. Never mind the non-existent "customer service" for recipients and the dreaded "major event" update they like to slap on the tracking. Herpes is an accurate name for the enterprise, I hate to think of how they must treat their drivers.

apologies didn't know Hermes affected some people in that way... guess i'm one of the lucky few yet to experience what others have experienced with them

I mean look, this is the latest from a MM item:

GRRRRRRRRR doesn't even start it. It's every time ffs.

UPS, DPD and RM are easily the best in the business for me.

Forum member sent package to me on Monday via this method. It arrived today, hardly guaranteed by 1pm next day but Im used to this treatment with other couriers not just RM.

@Ch3m1c4L think we should?
Claim delivery back? I would say yes, but earlier in the thread it says apperently if its within 24 hours of the due date it's OK. Which is total bs.

Still going to put a claim in on the off chance, but won't spend time chasing,will just complain and drop it.

This. I'll cancel and order elsewhere if I get a despatch notification from hermes without it being advertised by the retailer at point of ordering. Been burned too many times to take the chance anymore

a lot of these guarantees have clauses now, parcel force for one state they don’t guarantee any specific delivery date anymore due to covid.

The only one that for me at least has guaranteed is DPD. They’ve been spot on even through the pandemic and their app is really useful and easy to use.

royal mail a joke, was due to get a gpu which bought from MM, blatantly lied when said they tried to deliver it today, phoned and complained, advisor called natalie couldnt give a toss by her attitude, they tried to offer me fri delivery, but could get it for next day on website. well at least sender should be able to recover their p&p as compensation

RDSD guaranteed next day is still a 48 hour service isnt it? I know post covid/brexit they changed the terms to it being a 2 day service.

To my mind they should no longer be able to advertise it as a "Guaranteed next day" service and get away with an asterisk which says it might be 2 days.
