RTX 3050 - starting at $249 (msrp)

Anyone else getting "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered." Event ID 4101's with the 3050?

The screen briefly froze and went black and then returned after a few seconds just now. Hadnt seen it happen before but Event viewer shows it happeing most days since i have installed it but i imagine the other times i wasnt at the PC

Never happened in a game or anything. Seems like an idle power issues perhaps.

Would be grateful for anyone else to search for display events / 4101 ID's in event viewer. I'm on Windows 11.

Driver DDU in safe mode, and reinstall the driver would be a good place to start.

I stuck mine into my rig at the weekend just to do some testing at 1440 with some old games, all worked fine, Windows wouldn't pick it up to start with then I realised I was still on an old driver from when I put Windows 11 on a few months back before we even knew there was a 3050, driver update and all was well..

I think we'll all have needed a driver update to get the card to play nicely. Those from a few weeks back or more simply didn't have the RTX 3050 in there.

I think this is the first time I ever bought a card on launch day, so not something I've had to contend with before (unless it was an ATI > nVIDIA switch or vice versa back in the day).

This is for when you care more about how your PC looks than it runs.
I mean, there are much better looking cards, though I guess if you want your PC to look more expensive than it is. But paying more to make it look more expensive without getting more performance is a whole new level of coocoo banana pants

To be fair, in recent reviews the ASUS cards have been a lot cooler than some of the others. I don't think keeping the temperatures down is worth that much though.
