Ruddy inconsiderate cat owners...

We've already answered all those points before so:

You haven't answered all of them at all.

You cat owners are just as bad as the dog owners on my other thread who think they have the right to let their dog off the lead and crap all other over the park.

Just a bunch of ignorant inconsiderate idiots to be honest.

We have. Read the thread. On the contrary it's you who's ignored several questions from us as it seems you'd rather spout off rubbish such as "cat owners = homos"

I'm not a cat owner, nor is everybody disagreeing with you. Probably only a few.

Why should people even discuss anything with you when you just throw insults at us all? You'll probably be suspended soon anyway.

I fail to see the problem, cats are free ranging when it comes to gardens, always have been and probably always will. If they are pooping on your lawn just mow the lawn with the collector box on and dump it in the compost bin, sorted.

Maybe, if you presented a cat owner with photographs of their cat actually pooping in your garden they may clean up the mess, but then you'd moan that the neighbours were always in your garden and you have no privacy.

Most pet cats are wormed and de-flea'd regularly so I doubt a bit of cat poop is going to cause a serious illness in the near future.

Prevention is better than cure, so if it really gets on your wick then get some cat repellants, electronic or chemical.

Throwing a hissy fit (or your keyboard) at the neighbours isn't going to help much at all.

None of the cats around here lay bricks on lawns. My cat digs up the neighbour's flower bed and does his thing there instead :D

And anyway how does that make the owner inconsiderate, what do you want us to do, potty train them?

You should take more responsibility for your pets though. Shouldn't let them crap everywhere. Is it any wonder that someone might want to kill your little friend.

how on earth are owners supposed to stop them?

cats go where they want, borders mean nothing to them, they are WILD animals.

cats don't poo on open ground on the grass etc i have 2 cats, and also about 10 different wild cats in this area, NONE of them poo and don't cover it up, NONE. Its fox's that poo EVERYWHERE... on pavements, on grass, on doorsteps, on tables, on benches..... anywhere, and they don't waste time covering it up either.

you really need to get a grip, and read up on methods to stop them coming. Generally once a cat finds a area he likes to **** in, he will keep coming back, so making the area undesirable by many methods you can stop them coming in the first place.

All these little cat owners letting their pets crap in other peoples gardens. Not one of you have come forward to say they would collect their cats crap if asked. Merely defending your little flea rags saying they keep down the rat population (they don't) and saying they don't know its my garden like that excuses them of all responsibility for what their pets do.

Cats crap is toxic. You are risking my health by allowing your cat to crap in my garden. If I cannot legally shoot them then I whole heartedly believe that I should be able to prosecute the owners of their pets.

If you think that you have the right to let your cat do its business where ever it wants and anyone who gets annoyed at your cat crapping on your lawn is just being sad then all you are doing is demonstrating is that you are totally inconsiderate. Claiming that people should be banned, or need their head testing because they are fed up with other peoples animals crapping in their garden also demonstrates that you couldn't care less about anyone other than yourself. And that your little fleabag of a pet comes before anyone else. Sad.

If it was legal I wouldn't hesitate to fill the little flea bags with lead pellets. Keep control of your pets if you don't want them to get hurt. If you can't stop them crapping on other peoples lawns then don't start going up in arms because someone else will stop them.

Ruddy inconsiderate cat owners. (And I was right. Just look at you all)

Shame I don't know where you live, as I'd gladly take a dump on your door step :D

At the end of the day, cats have always done their business outside, and it's unfortunate that they do it in your garden, but at the end of the day it's just a fact of life and you've just got to learn to deal with it. Do you see me getting bent out of shape just because a bird has decided to dive bomb my car ? Npe, because at the end of the day it will wash off, ok so youhave to bend down and pick the cat muck up if it's in a place that it can easily be stepped on but dude, seriously calm down.

You think posting like that makes you look good ? I'll tell you now, we are all laughing at you and all thinking how sad and how much of a small mind you have. Is your real name Victor Meldrew ??

It's very easy to criticise him but we all get extremely wound up by trivial things in life, which others may find amusing. These things are often made to seem worse because of other factors. Ie you have a bad day at work, come home and find a sea of cat **** on your garden and then post on OCUK to take out some stress. I'm not sure having a major bashing at the OP is the best thing to do.

Actually our cat (and some of our neighbours cats) crap on our back lawn and several other lawns in our street. I have to scoop before I mow, or it gets in the blades !!

You can't train them easily though especially since they are territorial animals. I know for a fact that when a new car enters the cul-de-sac the cats have a race to see who can scent its front number plate the quickest. And when one has done it the rest follow soon afterwards to try to reclaim that new territory. Its the same in gardens. If one wees there then the rest will come over and have a sneaky piddle too. Its how they mark territory and then try to claim more. Its like they are playing an endless game of "risk" :D

My grandad has tried all sorts to rid him of the little buggers. He said at close range the pressure washer is a good one... working in the garden shed with pressure washer near the door really does wonders when catching them off guard.

He also said the bb guns that fire metall balls are fantastic. Carefully take aim and you can give one a limp from 50 yards away.

He says he's looking at getting one of those ZAT gun things for the foxes.

The OP claims that cat owners are inconsiderate to their neighbours.

It appears that most here accept that cats will poop in other peoples gardens.
How many cat owners care about their cats pooping in other peoples gardens?
It appears most people feel that the cat pretty much has a right to poop where it likes. That is pretty inconsiderate.

I have a cat, I did have 3 cats. I like cats. I like dogs too. Until recently I never thought much about where my cats did their business. Now that a cat has started using my new flower border it does bother me.

So perhaps the OP is correct, cat owners don't care if their cat spoils someone elses garden.

I don't live in a built up area so I guess I assumed that my cat went into the woods or fields. I've bought some "prikkastrip" for the fences and will put some in the flower border. Hopefully it'll keep cats (even mine) from pooping where my kids should be playing.

So Yes. Cat owners are pretty inconsiderate on the whole, we could have litter trays in our homes and our cats would happily use them. We could ensure that our cats are all neutered to reduce the territorial marking aspect of their behaviour or we could just not have cats at all.

Perhaps airsoft would have the same effect with less chance of injury.

I'll remember to never let the cat out of the house without a leash.

Also, if anyone ever shot an air rifle at my cat I'd attack that person very very quickly.

<insert insult here>

Do you feel that what your cat does is not your responsibility?
