It's a drug that is safe for humans when prescribed by a Doctor. Period. There were some studies during Covid that suggested it might be helpful as a treatment, so some people were prescribed it by their Doctors given how cheap it and readily available it is. Perfectly sensible. Just because some people did what you suggested doesn't mean a thing.

No one ever suggested taking it at stupidly high doses, is your reasoning for Ivermectin being unsafe because "some people lost their stomach linings due to ingesting high doses"? lol. This is laughable. It's a perfectly safe drug for humans to take when prescribed at doses suitable for humans, like almost any other drug or substance. I can go drink 12 litres of water and be in hospital, it doesn't say anything about water being unsafe.

I'm not defending Brand. It was so well known he was leery with him winning "shagger of the year". He was a sex and drug addict.

I noticed the programme started off when he was breaking into American.

So far nothing about his reputation years working at Channel 4.

So campaign to have the age of consent raised to 18, then. Or 21.

Really, what's the difference between a 16 year old having sex with: a 21 yo, 23 yo, a 25 yo, a 27 yo?

They're all significantly older with significantly more life experience.

The idea is that the age of consent is set to an age which allows the junior partner to have a reasonable understanding of what they're doing. And to be able to make a meaningful decision on whether to consent or not. It's not there to stop older men having sex with younger women.

(There are other laws to try to prevent abuse of power in very unequal relationships.)

If you think 16 isn't old enough to be able to make those decisions, then get the AOC raised. You'll still have older men having sex with younger women. The only thing you can try to control is the age of the junior partner.

You're not going to get the puritan outcome you want unless you enshrine in law that silly "half your age plus 7" nonsense. Which shouldn't be necessary if the junior partner is capable of understanding and giving meaningful consent. Beyond that requirement, all you're doing is interfering and preventing people getting together that want to.

So none of these women have reported any crimes to the police, but it's the news papers who have investigated and interviewed hundreds of people to try and find evidence of some alleged wrong doing. Sounds like a bit of a witch hunt.
 
It's a very American style programme.

American women are very conservative when the issue of sex comes up, so there was always going to be a cultural clash there, as brand was a drugged up sex addict moving into to a more conservative space.

Brand and his followers are claiming it's a co-ordinated smear campaign by the legacy media. If the police don't investigate, he'll end up with even more support than before.

Alright Cathy Newman, calm down. With absolutes like that I expect you're gonna whip out a red lightsaber.

I didn't say any of those things, and neither did Brand. It's perfectly possible to talk about the fact that the Ukraine situation is complicated without commenting on whether Russian's actions are good, bad, ugly, neutral, reverse or park. It's OK to fill in the background left very uncovered by mainstream media that makes a lot of what we're doing make more sense than simply "we good guys, they bad guys" which - while it might make for a handy simplification - isn't really the truth. This doesn't mean you're agreeing with or disagreeing with any side.

anyone who takes claims like this immediately to social media instead of the police should be immediately investigated themselves.
