Russian airliner missing over Egypt

The plane was operated by the small Russian airline Kogalymavia based in western Siberia and was flying back to St Petersburg carrying mainly tourists.

RIP :(

It has been a terrible few years for aviation. Horrible.

No it hasn't - I don't think we should let these tragic events cloud our views and allow us to lose sense of perspective. It is entirely because these events are so exceptionally rare that they seem so impactful when they occur. There are essentially a handful of serious incidents a year now - there was a time when there were dozens despite significantly lower traffic numbers. Believe it or not this is only the second large jet disaster this year.

Aviation is safer than it has ever been.

There were children on that plane dude. I wonder if they was responsible for shooting down the Malaysian plane. Obviously not. No one on the plane was. Just innocent holidaymakers coming back from their hols. Yes, they truly deserved this didn't they.

Just an awful thing to say.

Black box has been found apparently, hopefully it'll be intact and the data still ok,

Also, the BBC are saying the pilot had asked to make an emergency landing, but crashed 30 miles from the airport :(

Must be bloody terrible, flying a plane with 200 people on - and having a serious technical fault, :(
