Russian Grand Prix 2015, Sochi - Race 15/19

Went off at turn 13 (the bit after the second DRS zone), ended his lap and called it a day.

Ah, I see. Damn. Ah well, hopefully he can repeat what he did last time he was P2 and get in front of Nico at the start of the race tomorrow.

Very strange isn't it, to be that far off all of a sudden for both cars, just for that race.

This is what I really dislike about f1, you never find anything out these days, ok it's always been secretive, but you used to find out at some point most of the time, or at least strong rumours.

Ted pulled Horner up on it before too.
Unfortunately i have to rely on the good old BBC for my viewing displeasure :)

Can't wait for rear wing to have "We're sorry Renault" and the side pods having "No really, we are" for the entirety of next season...
At the very least...

In this respect, shouldn't Renault really tell Red Bull to bugger off? They have been publicly criticising them for how long?

Which is why having Red Bull come publicly back to them would be all the sweeter. It would be like a public declaration of how stupid RB have been.

My question would be why would Renault care now that they are coming back with Lotus. At the very least, Renault are likely to treat RB as a customer team who takes second place to their own factory squad. RB then has to take what they are given and smile about it.

It's only for a year or two anyway, as I'm sure RB would be looking for an alternate engine as soon as possible. It could have been Audi, but they look like they have other things on their minds.

Interesting images there, looks like the armco has reacted as intended but the barriers in front have simply ridden up the nose as it was so close to the floor given the wheel had already come off.

Scary crash and it makes you wonder whether the nose rules will be revised again as there have now been several incidents where the low nose has acted like a ramp or chisel.

QOTW to go to Horner for the "Eddie talking out of his arse as usual" - certainly made me laugh.

Several? I can't really recall any. Bianchi's crash is the only one that springs to mind and at that speed he was going under the tractor, nose or not.

The Tecpro's purpose is to slowly stop the car, which it did. He striked them at an unfortunate position, pretty much bang in the middle of two (or at least that's what it looks like), which is probably why they acted as they did. - Needless to say, those, as well as the car did their job and that's why he walked away from it.
