I know you were trying to make a point, but it's 37,000 in the grandstands and the BBC reports closer to 200,000 in total attendance from the balconies and hillsides*. Its status does justify it on the calendar, despite it not always being the most exhilarating race to watch.I think everyone gets that, but the special experience of 2,000 people at a circuit doesn't justify keeping a historic artificially hyped non-race on the calendar. The race is exciting as posting the winner's trophy to chap who's ahead at the first corner, with a few diamonds glued on to the box used for shipping.
