Plus you have to keep in mind that mostly these have been for performance upgrades. Honda are looking to next season I reckon - unfortunately where the engine is now strong, losing Adrian (and with his focus already diverted) has cost RB, and will continue to cost them in the aero department.

We said that exact same thing last year when Toro Rosso were being thrown to the back of the grid every race as they were testing improvements to the engine for the RB team to use this year. And still it's not reliable, and still they're getting mass grid penalties, either intentionally or not.

Probably just conserving to not blow an engine. Reliability is all that matters now.

It's amusing how news outlets I guess have to jump on FP results .But really they mean F all.

Course it’s not. I know not to take anything from FP times but I always do. I found it interesting Merc where slower in S3 on the softs compared to the medium.

I also read into testing way too much every year even though I know it means nothing. Go figure

Just looked like he went into the corner too fast and the rear wasn't interested in slowing down.

If they can stop the clock and restart a session in quali, why can't they pause the laps being used up in races when safety cars come out? Purely a fuel thing I guess?

Good question. My memory doesn’t go back that far!
