Fabulous lap from Hamilton to split the Ferraris, and another top qualifying performance from Leclerc. He's easily outclassing Vettel now.

Be interesting to see what new shenanigans Ferrari can come up with to screw Leclerc again.
Great drive by leclerc once again, he's getting quicker as the races go by now, finally someone is there to challenge the mercs.

Should be a really interesting race tomorrow. Mercedes in medium, Ferrari on soft. Best result possible for Hamilton in quali.
Vettel outclassed again. I hope ferrari don’t favour him this time so that we have a fair fight.

Seems strange not seeing Lewis winning everything, or anything at the moment. He couldn't put a foot wrong just a few weeks ago, almost always on poll and winning races. Suddenly, he's become second best as Ferrari have found form.

I just find it interesting that Mercedes have brought no upgrades since the summer break.

Yeah, that is rather odd.
Trouble is Leclerc needs to take 16 points per race out of Hamilton to overhaul 96 points in 6 races. If Hamilton can just keep himself out of trouble and put away the 2nd, 3rd, 4th places when he's not winning, then he should be safe enough.
It would have made for a very interesting season if Ferrari had backed Leclerc earlier and he was a bit closer already.

96 points, 6 races. Won’t happen. Hamilton is too consistent. Reliability seems solid. He doesn’t seem bothered at all which is why I think mercedes know what they are doing.

Development fully focused on next year and the big rule changes in 2021. This season is already over. May aswell get a head start on next years season.
The drivers title might as well be over but the gap in the constructors is relatively much tighter, especially if Bottas isn't on top of his game.
No upgrades means all the focus is towards 2020 and 2021.
Looks like they had worked from mid 2018 to mid 2019, and now don't develop further the 2019 machinery.

Lewis is yet to have a DNF. Mercedes are consistently reliable, but you would expect at least 1 DNF during the season. Even then though, it's too late to help Leclerc. It would have helped Bottas if he hadn't been so poor, or binned it during the last wet race.
