DayZ is much more about realism and could be considered a survival simulator, far more detailed/complex game in terms of controls, map, actions etc
Nether is more of an arcade type FPS, not really so much survival, just a brutal player v player v mutant thing where you level up and have skill trees.
rust is more about fun IMO, simple to understand and get to grips with, evolving map due to player buildings and plays soother than DayZ
If you like building stuff try rust, if you want realism try DayZ
