I do find this issue also.

I beleive that they think it's fun killing new starters against someone who is more equal and actually get some good inventory.

What's a new starter gonna have? the basics to someone whos got a full shack and more likely good stuff.

Actually there was one good guy "Nebby" who done killed me by accident and gave my stuff back thats where the good community is.

I just wish some players give people a chance to play, otherwise it will be the opposite of a good community to new players not bothering to play on the same server.

I get the "it's fun" to someone has literally has no chance, but frustrating for the player on the other end who is trying to build up loosing the wood and having to start with a rock again, or it least threaten them win win for both as most players have Mic's.
 
Well saying that some guy joined last night, I was armed with mp5 and he had a rock. He ran towards me and starting smacking me I turned around and killed him. He spawned close by and did the exact same thing again but this time almost killing me LOL. Sometimes rocks are lethal, sometimes people carry rocks and hide guns in backpacks and shoot you when you run past, so really they are the players who have done this really :)
 
I just kill everyone indiscriminately, easier that way, Mostly because of the above, I have also left some after giving them food only to get an arrow in my back as I ran off.

Lol,

Mmmm i can see your point in that aspect, i myself have no interest in bandits at this moment in time.

I hope they include in the future
.Weather and disasters - earthquakes/storms/tornadoes/ dynamic weather and different seasons.
.Farming - being able to grow crops and food, this would be good for bandits who want extra food
.Rivers and waterfalls - add additional things like windmills/watermills
.Different turrain - from beautiful forest to treeless deserts.
.Mining - in game trade for weapons ect... using different diamonds and ore - again bandits have an advantage also.

The game has many similarities to Minecraft, the only difference is the graphics and slightly different game concept.

However i find that the game feels rather empty of an emphasis of a survival game, having things like weather dynamics and farming and poss mining opens up the world for opportunity. For example if you mine and find diamonds are bandits going to raid and kill you.

Or one minute it's nice and sunny next there's a storm brewing and you can hear the distant thunder, winds damage some of the building.

You create your own farm and you see bandits in your field what you going to do??
 
The stashes you speak of. You can place storage boxes on top of them after you have put your valuable items in. That way if you get raided people will loot the boxes and then leave (hopefully, if they don't know about this). Of course by me writing this I am letting people know about it and might now start destroying storage boxes just to see if there is a stash underneath!

My house and all my stuff just got totally erased off the server... supposedly a hacker was using my house so the admins wiped it.

I'm not having any luck with this server AT ALL! DubFX offered to spawn me stuff to rebuild but can't be bothered now, lost all my house parts I was saving, gun powder, kevlar, loads of other items. What a total waste of time.

yeh i just had all of my stuff raided for the first time, gosh it sucks!! also it seems theres like 4-5 new neighbors where i had my shelter and resources are now hard to come buy, sighhhhhhhhh!
 
I just checked in and everything is still safe in my latest *somewhere* hidden base currently so may see if I can entice Badaids back - main thing is we can't build anything massive because we're not on enough to defend it. Saw a hell of a tower the other day by Hanger I think it was, guy sat in a window at the top of it firing at me to warn me off I think... pretty funny :D

Being raided does very much suck, not much fun having to replay all the starting up again steps every time you log on - it's why I asked earlier if anyone had a better route to go when a fresh respawn other than the make a shelter/fire etc... my thought was to grab bow/arrow asap but apparently hatchet is better bet :S Shall see I guess :)

Apart from the learning curve and all-round dieing today while trying to get my bearings, i must say the Cocky-Roach server is one of the good ones!! friendly chats as well as extremely helpful admins. Definitely join in on the fun!!

I spoke to you about this before and and tried to give you all your stuff back and help you build a new base , and the reason why the full base was removed.
Basically Gizmo was suspected of hacking as there was a lot of players been raided today on the server with no signs of forced entry.
We suspected gizmo was the culprit and we was correct , as gizmo was killed in the window of your building and again the was no signs of forced entry , in which is hard considering /remove is now disabled on this server which means he can't remove the way he forced himself into your building , also with no door's been c4'd of makes it impossible.
In which we removed the full building from the server thinking it was his but only to find out it was yours , which confirms our suspicions even more.

yes that area was a bit like that before the wipe too.

My only advice is to get to know who is living close, and if you can't befriend or cooperate with them, then relocate. You may need to get a bit more creative when farming resources too, do it at night, do it when the server is less populated (if possible) or track round the edge of the area to find a less busy resource spot.
 
Yeah i got raided to but only for wood, but i am guessing it was Saggy Grapes ;).

But got a good community in our area, Me "aka" mouldy cabbage REV and saggygrapes with his fortified base.

Who the hell built a block on resource valley???

Funny as hell seeing 3 bandits trying to raid REV base, first they went to the block house in resource valley i ran like hell back to my base then coming to ours.

Also seeing other people getting chased by a bear and wolf LOL
 
The Icelandic guys (Murk ) used to have a few large houses in RV before the wipe, they are rather unsociable lot for sure. They may have moved server now though.
