The anticheat will be forced on all servers m8, just going live on official first from what I can make out.
 
The guy who installed it, uninstalled it then left it in his recycle bin made me laugh

I'm sure the hackers will keep finding ways around this but it's going in the right direction
 
you know why it worked ? cause the game dev did it ! if more game devs and companies who make the games did this with anticheats it would clear a lot of cheating up. instead they farm out to third party groups.

Saw Peejayy on last night actually... will keep an eye out for them. As you can imagine not many Icelandic people playing games (well, as a percentage there probably is, but well it's a percentage of a small number :D)

Another question btw... do storage boxes decay? Was trying to get my head around some disappearing storage boxes last night... then the shelters disappeared too but furnace/fire/etc still all there so not sure if this was decay? Lost loads of stuff from storage boxes too which sucked but gotten used to that now :)

I think if not on foundations they decay same as spikes etc

About 3 days I think not sure if you can repair them same as you can walls etc
 
I think after not being used (door open/fire on or such) you have a 12 hr timer, then they start to decay. When you next use them it resets the timer but not the damage. To fix equip wood in a slot and press the corresponding button :)

Not sure if storage boxes etc within a shelter decay too though
 
thanks for the post about rust implimenting new anti cheats it a very good step in the right direction doubt ill log in tho

what this hacker guy showed me kinda made me not want too play atm

Updated my server with Cheatpunch.... Also latex Dog... Specter is still yet to banned or detected as you claimed he was aim botting/ using reduced recoil.

You're welcome on the server it's your choice
 
He won't have been banned as those bans were all on official servers. Not that am I saying he should be LOL, be interesting to see how many get caught now you can run CP on your own private servers,

I installed it late last night and Specter has been playing for several hours since without a BAN
 
Also forgot to say thanks to Dano for giving me my stuff back after I accidently wandered into a rad place which they were guarding :D I then lost my bearings and wandered for miles in the wrong direction doh! :(
 
Lol loving the facepunch thread about the bans.

one guy crying false positive as in hiw own words his gamma setting on his monitor doesn't work so he was using a 3rd party program to adjust his gamma so he can see better in the dark.

Facepunch staff responded with this screenshot of his UI :D

the reasons give for trying to avoid being caught is always awesome . best one i ever heard was a guy getting caught for using aimbot and blamed Vista .
