RX 480 on 100% load all the time?

I have same problem gpu at 100%
So I did what people have been trying but still @100% then I noticed that when my browser was open Google or Edge gpu went right up 100% so when I minimise browsers gpu load went back to 300mhz so must be something to do with browsers

flash could be the culprit. usually is!

I know there was a problem some time ago with an extension that pre-cached pages on tabs.

Open up Trixx and slide the GPU speed to 1000mhz. Click apply, then click reset followed by apply again.

It's solved my problems.

Mine had nothing to do with sleep mode (was never enabled in the first place). Often at startup and sometimes just randomly out of the blue it would spike to 100% and would not go back down. Restarting usually fixed it but occasionally I would have to power down. I haven't had the issue since upgrading to 16.8.2 but I've probably just been lucky.

Well, figured my luck would run out.

Back to 100% immediately on startup, persisted through 3 shutdowns before going back to normal.

Windows 7 - 16.8.2

Are we talking about actual 100% gpu load or just fans stuck at max? Because I had issues with fans getting stuck with 16.7.3 when I rolled back to 16.7.1 all was fine again. Recently installed 16.8.2 and all seems fine with that. W7 x64

This needs fixing, getting really ****** off with multiple reboots until i dont see 100% load.. starting to wish i bought a 1060 to tide me over until Vega instead of a 480

You could try shutting down for 20 seconds and start up again instead of simply rebooting. It usually works for me, don't ask me why.

Possibly not a Catalyst problem?

I had to uninstall my Catalyst suite and drivers using DDU, as repeated reboots couldn't stop the card running flat out and heating, but when rebooted and running MS basic graphics drivers I still had a 100% load. After installing the AMD driver only this went down to zero or just above, but I've been there before... I have a dual boot Win10 system one being a clean install, most of the time this runs OK but occasionally kicks up to 100%. So is this just a driver or Microsoft problem? This is my second card which has had this problem and gives me no confidence of it being worth keeping.
