RX VEGA AIB Cards Information Needed?

o.png
Im surprised these guys havn't just stopped stocking them now tbh, as just collecting dust in there, just absolutely no point in em.

But those people aren't looking to buy now. The point was it's hard to justify buying a Vega 64/56 NOW over a 1080 or whatever.
Hard isn't really the word I would use, due to the supply/demand issues the Vega cards are currently running ~£150 or more than the equivalent Nvidia card, that's just mental, it's normally the other way round. I can't see anyone buying at these prices apart from miners, it's £200 above launch/retail lol.

But that would cost £550 now (if there was stock). Plus extra if you had to buy the AIO stuff too (not sure if that's what you meant).
Since you can't buy for the launch price now that seems irrelevant.

Early bird catches the worm and the AIO was re-purposed from my R9 290 so it cost me nothing but time.

I do agree though that they are too expensive right now for the performance. Whether that will change with drivers and game take up of supported features is yet to be determined. I will say though that AMD support their products far better for far longer so with AMD you measure bang for buck over a 5yr period unless you must keep up with the Jones's, which isn't me.

I'll keep this card for another 4 or 5yrs depending on what Navi turns out like.

Its bizarre that Sapphire produces a card that struggles to reach its quoted 'special' boost clocks and is a good hunk of money more than other AIB's seemingly on the inclusion of 'Limited edition' in the title.

Roll on Navi

It's the AMD equivalent of an EVGA Kingpin card, massive price in order to get features/specs 99.99% of buyers don't care about.

Vega has to be one of the worst GPU releases for the gamers.
Well, at release it was excellent for gamers, it's after release things have turned nightmarish XD

Be interesting to know if the prices of the AIB Vegas are due to AMD or AIBs or retailers profiteering on Vegas mining demand.

Sure but apart from a slightly elevated and seemingly mainly unreachable boost clock it doesn't seem to be offering anything else that other AIB's aren't.

On the flip side I'm astonished Asus's ROG Strix version is only a tenner more than the others, usually they are the ones to gouge. Hope we see some severe price drops by spring.
