Ryzen "2" ?

Let me ask a yes or no question.

It's now almost 4 weeks of fiddling with this 8 Pack ram and I am still not sure I have it stable.

The fact the ram isn't stable using the out of the box DOCP profile with no additional tweaks and everything else stock in the bios, would you RMA the ram?

That's pretty much why I bought it. Plug and play ease of mind.

Can i suggest the following bit of software. It takes all the guesswork out of running memtest, runs faster (it's all over in under 30mins) and is deadly accurate. The only downside is you will have to part with 9 euro. But take it from me it's worth every cent. It runs in full 64 bit mode and can address as much ram as you have in one hit. The Stilt recommends it and to be honest it just works.

But that's partly what the x470 gives you unless I am mistaken due to thermal limitations.

For example on my Prime Pro x370 I don't have the option of Core Performance Boost.

I know the CH7 has it and 'maybe' they have backported to the CH6.

Core Performance Boost on Level 2 which is within AMD specifications will net you an extra 200MHz across all cores.

I'm getting 4GHz on my x370. I'm either temp limited or a CH7 with Core Performance Boost set to level 2 would get me 4.2GHz across all cores.

A nice boost for those with the more premium mobo.

I'm thinking about grabbing an ATX x470 to replace my M-ATX 350m as I transferred the system back into my old case so I could use a 240mm AIO with it, I'm hoping it'll fix my memory speed problem as well, My 3200 8pack ram can only run at 3000 with the 2700x where as it was okay with the 1600x. I think another update for my motherboards bio's will be needed but as it's a cheap board and they already did one so that it would support the refresh a couple of days before the refresh released I doubt they'll get around to doing another anytime soon.

If I was buying a new X470 mobo I'd buy the CH7. Just to get the most out of the 2700x.

I'm gonna RMA the ram. No more messing about. It's summer now anyway so game time is limited.

It has to be the ram. As soon as that was installed I started having these issues.

I've never experienced something like this before. Fine fine fine freeze.

Dodgy ram chip or something of that nature.

It was fine prior to this ram.

I use a 3600 memory, although it's before 8pack started selling kits which are based on same kit I think.

Ha ha. I removed my question but it seems not ninja fast enough.

So I'll ask it again. By the time I'm send this ram back, worth just going for the 3600MHz ram?

How likely will it be to work on a X370 board?

Would love to see what they can do on ryzen. @8 Pack You tried top bin on Zen+ Curious what sort of timings can they do hehe

ordered the 4000hz kits yesterday as it was on sale for cheaper then 3200 haha .

switch between intel and amd so dont mind the high ram, but hoping the chips are a nice bin an see how getting low CL for 3200/3333 fairs with x470 :D

I’ve got the 3600 and mines been happy st 3333c14 since I plugged my 2700x in to my ch6. I might try higher but it seems the benefits are very small above 3200 again.

Depends on the programs , worth noting your min FPS and average FPS is gaming . Found with Intel that's what played a key part. Also friends CAD rendering with V Ray - CPU only, 3200 8 Pack ram running at 3466hz shaved 6 hours of 5 day render .. for him that's a lot. Specially when that render use to take 2 weeks on his 2nd gen i7 laptop! Haha

Which Ram did you get?

8 Pack 4000hz edition , £188 at the mo
