Ryzen "2" ?

Will do as You see 2700 got chance to catch up/pass my 5ghz 2500k in RAW ST performance

BTW that 2500k build is still working @ my home after my sister gamed on it then gave it to my dad. Family of 5ghz :D

Lost file with benchmarks of 5820k vs ryzen when i swaped SSD for NVME i think :( but he 5820k was faster in every single game.
Besides WoW in 3D think it loves cache :D

I dont know why everyone gets such a stiffy over flipping games, especially old rubbish poorly coded ones.
Gaming is only one small part of what a PC can do, its not even as if AMDs chips are that far behind Intels ones either when it comes to gaming - the FPS numbers at resolutions and detail levels you would realistically use are not separated by much at all.
Having a few% higher frames in a rubbish port of a game is hardly worth the compromise of more future proofed silicon and a better all round bit of kit.

I can tell ya that when im gaming on my oculus rift GPU is botleneck not CPU :)

ha found photo of my Phenom X3 cooler the ASUS STAR ICE
asusstarice_side.jpg

Had extra fan added on back it looked like jet engine and... sounded like one :D

I hope 2700 can push my memory to rated 3733 or at least 3600cl14

What's your RAM at? My brother got cold boot issues randomly at 3200 MHz no matter the voltage yet it's stable as a rock at 3066 MHz. It may be a CPU IMC issue in your case too.

I've seen this "cold booting" issue in a few posts. What is it and should I be concerned?

I'm considering the C7H motherboard by the end of the month.

for gaming my 5820k was hands down faster at 4.45 than my ryzen is. Scored 10 more in st in cinebench. And my 5820k was crap clocker and could not do more than 2666 on DDR4 !!!
My ST score is 166 btw

so

Cinebench: 2700X
MT: 1948 @ 4.3Ghz (+9.3%)
ST: 178 @ 4.3Ghz (+6.6%)

Its on pair ST with 5820k :)

Saying tht 5960X is still faster than Zen+ when both overclocked /thread

Are u kidding me :)))?I have both and more CPUs in my collection and thats not true.
I have with my Ryzen 7 1800x score close to 1950 at 4130MHz. Stable at 4075MHz with AIO.
Believe me, 2700x has in right hands higher score than 1950 at 4300MHz (2000 is doable).
There is typical OC at 5960x over 4500MHz

Post Yours 5820 ST benchmark screenshot then.
And we are talking 24/7 stable not benchable overclock. Mine is 100% stable score on everything possible. I can bench at 4.1 but whats the point if its not stable ??
And We are talking ST NOT MT performance here. Everyone knows 4 more threads will be faster in MT aplications
I'w just posted ST performance on 5 systems max oc

in case You missed it:

I have 8 Pack 3600Mhz @ 3200Mhz, I just have to go into the bios then cancel and it boots back into windows. I will try that for now, if it works I'll swap it out for the new range.

Its related to how ryzens IMC train memory at boot. 100% fixable with bios update. We uswd to have special bios for this issue that you flashed before flashing normal bios.

What boot atempt count You got set up i used to have 5 now on auto with moded 3602 bios

Not sure I have changed that setting - I am running the new beta bios at the moment but have had the same issue with all.

I'll check at home later and report back. May make a seperate thread so I don't clog this up.

Thanks

Why are you not using R15? why R11.5?

Cinebench R11.5 is known to have code in it where if it detects an AMD CPU it will deliberately gimp AMD's performance. here is the Anti trust https://www.ftc.gov/sites/default/files/documents/cases/091216intelcmpt.pdf

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=4et7kDGSRfc&t=226

If you didn't know about this fair enought but now that you do use R15.
