RYZEN 5000 SERIES NOW ONLINE - 5950X, 5900X, 5800X & 5600X COMING NOV 5TH AT 5PM **NO COMPETITORS**

Which is how I expected it to work, but is the exact opposite of what I was told in the last reply. Which means that it hasn't moved, at all, in a week.
Your queue position wont move at all if no deliveries are received. When I spoke to something they said pre orders are closed and 6 weeks was given to fulfil all orders.
OcUk wise, i'm not sure an ETA of fulfilling all orders has been provided. It would be nice to see a daily updated FAQ page from OcUK for those that have ordered from them

seems like its a bloodbath for 5900x/5950x, stay strong!

however I ordered a 5800x, anyone do the same and receive a queue position yet? i placed my order about 40 mins after launch but the payment wasnt processed for another 24 hours :( i was initially optimistic because rumours said stock would be higher... now not so much.

Yes I placed the order at about 2:45pm on the 5th, got an email Friday to say 74th in the queue.

There was talk of 100 turning up yesterday/today (5800x this is) but I've heard nothing more since so guess that didn't happen.

74 is not too shabby! Since my payment didn’t process until sometime Friday afternoon I didn’t get the queue email, fingers crossed it’s not too bad tomorrow. Thanks!

Well, from what we know (from Gibbo's post) the 5600X, 5900X and 5950X delivery was pushed back, but we heard nothing about the 5800X. I remain optimistic that no news is good news.

I trusted the 17:00 time quoted by Gibbo and ended up not placing my order until 15:45 on the Thursday when I saw that it was already live. The email on Friday said that I was #293 in the queue.

I am expecting that no news is bad news, because it's the hope that kills ya.

Oh right. I assumed OcUK were buying direct from AMD, but if there are middlemen that are doing the price hiking, that's more understandable.

I think they are for the majority of their stock, but there are other non-official suppliers; no idea how that works though because it ultimately has to come from AMD, unless they're buying from AMD and marking it up, in which case I hope their business burns down.

How many people might have order one in a couple of months and then maybe backed out versus people that are pre-ordering now fearing they wont get one if they wait?

I don't see it that way at all, I'm not building a machine because these chips are in demand, I couldn't care less what others want. The timing was just good with my existing machines and new products coming out.

If I was originally planning to order in a few months the only smart decision would be to wait, jumping in now just means you face considerable markups and a disappointing wait. If you were prepared to wait a few months then just do it, this mess will have gone away by then.

Don't tie your money up for something you can't do for months when you could be putting it to productive use instead.

CaseKing have tied Gibbo’s hands.

It seems everywhere there are stock shortages.
I ordered from a retail store competitor on 04/11
This was allocated for first delivery on or after Saturday 07/11
On 10/11 I was told stock was allocated and I would be receiving it on 11/11 or 12/11.

Today I went there and there has been a stock discrepancy at some point and the item is not in stock in any stores. They also said they have had no stock but this isnt correct as know at least one person received theirs on 08/11. I must have missed the first batch and god knows when another batch will arrive which then needs to be shipped to the retail store for collection

Based on info I would be receiving one on 11/11 or 12/11 I returned an unopened 3800XT which I now know I should have kept.

What CPU would anyone recomment to tide me over until the 5900X arrives from either high street or an online competitor? Thinking 3800XT for £330 isnt bad and can probably return it opened and used too without much hassle... or I return RAM and motherboard and go down the Intel route

Depends how much performance you really need, and how much loss you are willing to risk selling on. A £95 3100 might do you, otherwise look out for a used 3600 at ~£150.

just slam anything cheap in untill it arrives... why do you need something really expensive like a 3800xt if its only to tide you over? id be putting a 3100 in or 2600 or something like that

I don't like that behaviour, that's why products are more expensive for the rest of us, people who try things out, wear it with the tag on and send it back for full refund. That costs the shop a lot, opened box products don't sell full price.

I THINK I might have just gotten myself a 5600x, to be delivered early next week. You see, I'm coming from a 4790k, so building a whole new system, and I was trying to buy the components separately, but I'd forgotten about one thing, bundles.......

I'm ready for it! This time it'll be different! Third time's the charm!

What could possibly go wrong? :D

I'm feeling extremely lucky this year.... Maybe I should try for amd gpu to complete my hatrick.

Honestly thought, I've never bought at launch before. The 3080 and 5900 have put me right off!

I'm the same upgrading from the 4770k I've got patients too w8 as the system is ok I've got my MB and Cooler just w8ing for Mem and the CPU to come in it might be dec might be l8er but for now, I've got a working system and it gets me by

There is nothing wrong with exercising your consumer rights.

I have done the same thing , got a bundle 5900x . I’m having to sell the components that come with it though , it’s still worked out cheaper than OCUK’s price after I have sold the parts I don’t need , and I will hopefully get the chip in the next 7-10 days . Only downside is that it’s a OEM tray chip . Small price to pay I guess
