RYZEN 5000 SERIES NOW ONLINE - 5950X, 5900X, 5800X & 5600X COMING NOV 5TH AT 5PM **NO COMPETITORS**

89 in the que for a 5950x does anyone know or rough estimate when i will get this cpu shipped :/
Gibbo posted that he'd sourced an additional 35 x 5950x (maybe this week) and this later post with an additional 60 x 5950x due on the 20th from main distributor.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/posts/34202186

So I think your Q number falls inside this total number (35 + 60 = 95), maybe your order will be shipped on or just after 20th. I'm 105 in the queue so I think I might have to wait until December.

Hardware releases these days, what a farce. We're looking at a potential 3 for 3 "queueing system" if the 6 series also has low stock...which amd hinted it wouldn't a while ago but seems to have now gone quiet on due to numerous leaks saying it will.

Whilst I understand the frustration (Im trying to finish a build) this sort of comment does amuse me.

Food is a vital commodity, a new CPU or GPU thats a bit faster than the one you already own isn't.

Theres no comparison there, if you just wait a couple of months you will get what you want at the right price. It would be better if they had enough stock at launch, but you wont starve to death because of it :)

People were blaiming Nvidia at 30 series launch, but its the same everywhere. AMD now having same issues, and literally had a discussion at work just now about getting PS5 for Xmas. Just how it is.

Exactly food is vital and tech isn't but people are acting that tech IS vital ie desperate because of many reasons, probably more so being stuck at home and then getting desperate - it doesn't mean that companies should still take advantage as its not food and therefore not 'vital'. Yes its first world problems but its still there.
There should be a fixed MSRP which unfortunately won't happen.

I was making a comparison there.:D

They should have taken the money for pre-orders as it is part of the T&C's.

If anyone was not aware of that when pre-ordering then more fool them tbh.

It's a case of if you don't like it shop elsewhere.

I recently bought some hard to get hardware. They also have supply and demand issues but their queuing system seemed much fairer/better
You "Pre order" and when your slot becomes available they email you and you have a fixed time to pay. At least you'll know that its a few days away when they you pay your balance. It would also mean you can shop around and if you get it sooner then you miss your slot and it goes to the next waiting

Well, i just happened to be on the site at the right time so ordered it (1 available) for
£750

Ryzen 5900X
Freezer 7 X Cooler
ASUS ROG Strix B550-E Gaming Motherboard

Arriving: Wednesday, November 18 - Monday, November 23

Will just sell the cooler and motherboard.
2 x 5900X preorders awaiting but god knows when they will arrive, or even if the above one will?! It did say in stock though

Also on order for collection tomorrow is a Ryzen 3600.

I’m going to get a new cpu if it break my credit card! That said, don’t think i’ll have issues shifting the two other 5900Xs for retail price to friends

edit - suppose I could return my MSI MEG Unify x570 board which I paid £265 for and is unused. Or would the B550-e be no-where near as good?

I'll be your friend! :)

So I finally decided on the ASUS B550 itx board, have taken delivery of a gskill 32GB 4000 CL17 kit, have ordered a Noctua NH-L9a but don’t have a CPU :( As I’m limited to 47mm or less cooler I’m beginning to wonder what all the noise is about undervolting, whether I should be looking to a 5600x when in stock or if undervolting is going to be AMDs answer to additional SKUs. (Turn a 5800x into a 5700x).

Depends what your main use will be?.

With the price difference on the 5600x and 5800x I just can't justify the increase of between the 2 plus I'll have to purchase another cooler for the 5800x so that's another £40-60 increase... For 2 more cores, 4 more threads and mostly I play games and do some docker / coding. Have a new MSI Mortar B550m installed in my case with a temporary 3100x (couldn't get the non-existant 3300x chip).

Now to see how the 6800/XT availability is. At least with CPUs there is a lot less to manufacture so hopefully these chips start coming in well by mid december / early Jan.

:)

There’s a 5900X for delivery 18-23rd nov on a competitor site. £860 inc. 1 left.

+ Freezer 7 X Cooler), ASUS ROG Strix B550-F (WiFi) Gaming Motherboard, Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB 3200Mhz DDR4 RAM

I'm sorely tempted - I just need to be mature about it, been waiting a year to build my PC and now I've got my 38" 175hz screen, 3080 and 4000mhz C15 RAM it feels like I can taste it. 400 in the queue at competitors(which is better than most I suppose) and I'm playing with a 3080 on a stock 2700k on 8gb DDR2 at 3840 x 1600! Feels like I'm driving a Ferrari in the mud.

Depends what your main use will be?.

Graphic design, Adobe CC and gaming.

It’s going to be a mini build in a Sentry 2.0 with a cable to the TV and another to my desk for work. I have a 10c20t Windows VM there but the boost isn’t great for workloads. If I can offload jobs to the VM while working on the Ryzen mini rig that’ll be perfect.

I’ll be limited to 65w tdp of the 5600x with the Noctua cooler. Extra cores would be nice but until AMD confirm the undervolting hype I’ll not know whether a 5900x can scale to fit or if temps will be a nightmare.
