RYZEN 5000 SERIES NOW ONLINE - 5950X, 5900X, 5800X & 5600X COMING NOV 5TH AT 5PM **NO COMPETITORS**

Don’t forgot ‘Covid related issues’
Every business in the world seems to be using this excuse at the moment

1) A hell of a lot of businesses are moving back to Taiwan right now, so trying to get manufacturing time is getting more difficult, and more expensive due to demand.
2) Shipping, ESPECIALLY flights, has got a lot more expensive. I had prototype parts I was meant to test severely delayed because of this from a big manufacturer.

May somebody asked it before, but will be a pre-order for the Zen3, or only 'buy it now' on Nov. 5?

Also, I contacted Asus regarding their new upcoming X570 board, the Dark Hero, but still waiting for the answer. I just hope, it will come with the Zen3 or before....

I already sold my Comet platform, purchased a B550 Toma and 3600 until the Zen3. Cannot wait, honestly.

I hope there is decent stock on release.

It's been 10 years since a CPU/mobo/RAM upgrade for me.

I've built a new machine about a month ago, which is now sitting back in the box the case came in to keep the dust out of everything just waiting for this new CPU.

Needless to say, I am very keen to get my hands on a Zen 3 CPU asap, but I've waiting so long now I won't give in and just get a 3xxx if there are stocks issues.

But it'll annoy me, a lot. I have this gut feeling it'll be nearer Christmas before there is good availability but I hope I'm wrong.

FWIW, I commited to this route (including ordering a 3080) and now I feel a bit stuck.

I'm kinda (subject to real world benchmarks) going full team red for a long time. I imagine we'll see plenty of others do the same, all I'm hoping out for is the AMD GPUs being under £550 or so (could be wishful thinking), cause the 20GB Nvidia 3080s are easily going to be £850-1000, and 16GB team red at £550 could be absolutely nuts.

I had been 5900X and 3080 but that's shifted over time, not pulling any triggers until benchmarks though.

Sort of related but have a look at Demciflex filters. Great for keeping that shiny new hardware free of dust. They have sets for a large number of cases on their website. I'm a bit of a fan :D

I have been intel and NV for a long time, Now i have gone to AMD. Just put me together a Aorus X570 extreme MB and a 3900X with 1TB Sabrent Rocket NVMe 4.0 awaiting the 5950X to become available. also wanting big navi to really perform to go RED team completely. I dont think it will be a 3090 beater, but if its 3080 performance
thats good enough for me, I am a casual gamer but use my PC for many things thats why the 5950X is CPU of choice. Also if big navi comes with the 16g of ram onboard like they are saying, could become useful. NV cards will shift to 7nm some time next year so dont see the point in going 3080 at the moment in any case.

All red team iam hoping for this round.

That's very sensible. In my case I'll stick with the 3080 if it arrives before the RDNA 2 event (there's no guarantee of availability for those) but if that event shows something worth waiting for I may delay all my plans.

I seriously hope OC has a decent stock level. It seems a lot of people are waiting to finalise a build or upgrade (me included as a first build).

It would make good business sense if they revealed stock levels prior to sale so we can all get a good idea if whether we can buy one this year or not

Im waiting on the 5900x for my first Ryzen build.
To start with, based on advice on here, im sticking with my 2x16gb Corsair 3200 @ 16-18-18-36. Apparently the timings will make it perform similarly to 3600 c18 kits, which seem to be the most common in 32gb.

Then once ive got my head around all this infinity fabric stuff, and seen benchmarks, ill think about getting 3800/4000 or something if its worth it.

I would like to think that a CPU won't be as crazy as a GPU launch, but I'm recently scarred by my 3080 experience.

I'll be watching with great interest for sure, even tho I'm not planning to buy for another 6 months, to let prices settle.

The nV launches so far have been comedy gold; AMD might provide a few laughs of their own :p

That's awfully cruel!

Yeah, I'd love to be in a position to wait but I've finally chosen to move on from my mighty 2500K!
