Would like to replace my 2500k with AMDs new offering, performance depending of course. Get some good bundle deals up, I suspect the ever increasing price of DDR4 will make things look expensive though.

I have an x58 setup which is still decent but is getting on a bit, if ryzen offers a decent enough performance boost for reasonable money then I'll probably go amd

I said no, as it says on launch. But I will get it maybe in a year or so's time when I feel I need a CPU upgrade. As it is I feel my cpu at 4.7GHz runs everything perfectly well. Will wait for PCIe 4 at least before upgrading.

Will then move this to my partners PC which is running on a pentium g3258 at 4.6GHz. When it comes to general use the pentium g3258 overclocked is such a great cpu. Things load super fast.

If the reviews are good and the rumoured price points are met sure . That also depends on stock availability for choice across both motherboard and CPU range with out any absurd price gouging from retailers ...

I said yes.

I'm hoping there are a bunch of reviews quick smart after the NDA lifts. I'm ready to buy. Money is already assigned. I just need prices, availability and reviews.

Pending positive reviews I'm doing a Ryzen build to upgrade from my aging 3930K setup.

  • 1800X with an AIO
  • 32GB G.Skill Trident Z 3200 (you need to get some G.Skill stock mate)
  • Asus Crosshair VI Hero (at the moment)
  • 1TB Samsung 960 Pro M.2

Im excited to go back to AMD after so many years (last was an opteron on socket 939/940!). One of my favourite PCs over the years had a Thunderbird chip, good times!

Yeah I am, need to replace my 2500k with one of the higher end chips. Just waiting for the reviews to appear first.

A maybe for now. I have a 5820K but the motherboard was damaged and only 1 out of 7 PCI-E slots work. I do a lot of rendering so more cores would be useful. If improvements aren't significant enough to warrant the cost of a new CPU+Motherboard then I'll just get a new X99 motherboard.

Yep if the benchmarks are as good as the leaks then certainly. A 1800X is going to be mine with an Nvidia 1080 and 32GBs of RAM :D.

I just hope OCUK have a system configurator for Ryzen on release day. I don't want to build the computer myself I want OCUK to build it for me :).

5820k is more than I use at the moment.

This is my first Intel system since slot 1 P3.

Hopefully AMD will have a competitive product when I do upgrade.

Depending on the price range after a few weeks ill probably get the OH set up with the lowest 6c/12t or the highest 4c/8t RyZEN part and pair it with a RX 470 for some 1080p light gaming.

For my main rig i already have a i7-5820K + R9 290. So I am saving my big money for vega :D

I 'desperately' need to upgrade my antique X4 760K. It was hopeless when I bought it three years ago and now it's just a dead weight.

So I'm going full ham and getting the 1800x. I have no need for 8c/16t and I have no doubt the six core versions will probably end up the smart choice... but smart choices have never been my style.

Wasn't quite sure how to vote in the poll. Being a tiresome AMD fanboy, I've never left. :o

The way things stand, and depending on benchmarks, I'm looking to update my 2500k. Haven't been on AMD since my trusty Athlon 3700! Not 100% sure on which one I'm going for; i'l let others be the guinea pigs :D I feel the smart thing to do for me would be to grab the best mid-tier overclocker and update the CPU as more developed versions arise in the future.

P.S. Pleaseeeee do everything in your power to work out a bundle deal! I need to buy a graphics card to go with all of it :(

All my life I've pretty much ran AMD CPU wise (3200+, 5000, 7550, II 250, 9650, II 645) as it was always cheap stuff to get since I tended to have ****** luck with hardware dying (or me killing it) and it wasn't until recently I hopped to Intel's side of things with the budget Xeon X58 build I'm currently running. Depending on bundle prices, performance of those bundles compared to my current system and what sort of price I'd get for selling my current system going back to the AMD side of things would be nice but I'll wait and see what the general consensus and performance of Ryzen is before making any bold moves.
