No because I just built my Skylake itx system. But when I upgrade in a few years and AMD are still bringing out some exciting hardware then I'll go with them aslong as they have an itx board.

Really hope amd do very well.

I've got my eye on the R1700X for me and the wife over the next year (not immediately), she's on first gen i5 and I'm on the machine in sig. Both of us are well due an upgrade, but there hasn't been enough to warrant it recently and a few other considerations have had to come first.

See what happens. If OCUK could throw together some stunning bundles for us over the next 6 months that may also help ;)

I would go the R1800X but feel the price may be a bit too princely for what is essentially a gaming rig which sometimes/occasionally does other stuff. I'd also consider the 6c/12t setups, but unless they OC massively think I'll skip that, and just hope the 1700/x's clock well. 8c/16t seems like the sort of reason to actually upgrade, especially after quad cores dominating for years at enthusiast (note not extreme enthusiast, the relative number who could afford to spend on the -E processors I'd imagine will not have been many)

If AMD keep to their word and keep everything on the AM4 platform over the next few gens of Zen and Zen refresh, that will certainly also win them favours, as we'll be back to the days where a CPU upgrade a few years down the line can be a slot in upgrade, unlike the last 5+ years with Intel which have required new chipsets.

I would think and hope if the 1700s can get to 4.5GHz then they'll annihilate my [email protected]...FINALLY. Intel has not really done that at anything approaching a reasonable price. It's sounding like Ryzen would allow me to get a decent CPU/MOBO/RAM and potentially still have change from just buying a recent top end Intel.

Hopefully that is how it turns out! Hopefully we'll see news of Vega soon, as I'd really like to upgrade GPU at the same time, or imminently after the rebuild, money allowing.

I'm on an FX-8350, so it's probable. Main concern is I'm not really interested in gaming (which I'm certain it will be fine for), but in programming and database work. The memory controller seems to be the weak link and in the adoredTV video, database performance was one of the few weak areas vs. Intel. However, I'd say it is still a likely buy for a 8c/16t one.

I may not on launch day as I wanted an ASUS board and the ones seen so far look a bit lacking feature wise, will leave it a couple of weeks in the hope they announce a (decent) Sabertooth, if not I'll grab a Gigabyte Aorus Gaming or MSI Titanium Gaming.

I haven't had an AMD CPU since my Athlon 1 5200+, which was in a budget Gaming PC, and it did 'alright' at the time. But I don't feel the need to upgrade the 4770k at the mo!

Hi there

So when you guys say you want a bundle do you mean:
CPU + Mobo
CPU + Mobo + RAM
CPU + Mobo + RAM + Cooler
CPU + Mobo + Cooler

We can only do one so please reply choosing one and we will likely go with the most popular choice.

I voted no. Given I already have an AMD system, I can't switch 'back'.

And I'm a cheapskate - so Ryzen 3 or 5 is more likely.

I answered falsely because I am already AMD.

The questions should have allowed for options for Intel users and current AMD users.

But yes I am buying Ryzen as soon as it lands. I answered YES, mark me down for preorder. :)

Overclockers bundle required Crosshair, Ryzen of choice (at stock) and 3200c15 ram.

I'll be watching with interest as competition for intels dominance has been a long time coming and is desperately needed.

But i only built a 6700k setup just before Christmas which will be fine for my needs for the next few years at least.

CPU + Mobo I would imagine would be the most likely answer here.

I know I for one only need that to complete my build, having been able to source everything else already. RAM and Cooler would surely be a more personal choice, whereas CPU + recommended MB might be a nice way to go.

I'd say the top one (CPU+Mobo) if you could only offer one, as it'll give people most flexibility on RAM and how much, and whether to use stock cooler or not. If you get a genuinely excellent deal where the RAM essentially ends up free however CPU+MOBO+RAM may also go down well if there is a good saving over buying individually.

Us brits love a bargain! ;)

Probably worth another poll?
I never go for bundles myself but would certainly consider one with you if you got some G.Skill Trident Z.

Yes. Asus crosshair apex or asrock ocf with a nice 1800x for benching and one of the 4c8t for my main system :D I can't wait I miss the power of the 5960x so much for 3d benching . :(

Depends on reviews/overclocks really. I want to get off my 2500k somewhere in the next 6 months, but whether it's Ryzen or Kabylake entirely depends on which is best for my purposes :)
