There is a lot of talk about the power draw and quite right too. But it's not just the CPU. The power to the CPU will affect the whole machine. More power will be required for cooling, more or bigger fans or pumps. Hotter VRM's / mosfets etc. This extra power will be drawn through the PSU which again has its own losses (you'll be lucky if you ever see 80% efficient PSU). 100 / 150 watts suddenly becomes a lot more, forever.
 
no tangable benifit from me going from a 7950 to the x3d option, my worry is if a game needs more than 8 cores it can affect the top 2 chips as there is a latency penalty between the ccd's, gonna stick with what i have, i dont know why amd didnt just share the updated cache between the ccd's, that way there would be no issue if more than 8 cores are needed
 
Do we still not know how many vcache cores are in the 7900x3d? If its only 6 that would seem poor.

edit: Confirmed 6 vcache cores....

Leakers also said 4090/7900XTX would be four times faster in Rasta performance. Turned out to be 50% +\- a few. :cry:

Simply because the 7900x3D is going to have less performance for games by both its higher (7950x) and lesser sku (7800x3d).

AMD withholding the units for reviews didn't help. Only got confirmed an hour ago;

Annoying my card was rejected(probably my banks over active fraud checks) and now it's out of stock. Doesn't say how long the wait would be either? Oh well.
