Poll: Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

Will you be purchasing the 7800X3D on the 6th?

What he doesn't realise is that by default COD will set the render worked count to almost match (it uses 1 below) how many physical cores you have, so this can put CPUs with a larger physical core count at a disadvantage, aka the 13900K/7950X3D et al.

COD works much better with a render count 6, or 7. Guess what the 5800X3D uses by default in COD? 7. This probably goes part way to explaining his odd result.

So, change the worker count thread to 6, watch the 7950X3D increase performance significantly that nothing else will get near it.

Intel CPUs would also benefit from this too.

I did think he was doing something wrong. I’ve messed about with that myself I think it’s set to 5 at the moment. That seemed to work the best for my use case.

His results are still a little odd though, even I get results that are not too far away from what I posted above with the render count at 15, shrug.

Got around to installing my 7950x3d on Friday. Spent all day yesterday leak testing and installing drivers, apps, games. I've only enabled expo in the bios, no other tweaks. All looking good, except my boot time is around 20 seconds longer than my am4 based machine.

It's normal, DDR5 training takes a bit longer. I suspect in time as the platform matures the time taken may reduce.

@Nickolp1974 First Warzone 2 video up, next one is Al Mazarh.

And another, CPU bottleneck completely removed with the 7950X3D at 1080P.
These numbers look excellent, my 12900k is between 220 and 280 at this game. I mean it can hit 300+ at some areas, but mostly it's below that. Your 1% lows though are a bit low, mine stay above 190. It'd be interesting to test with a 4090 if / when you have the time - cause there is no way to know if your 1% lows are caused by the card.

Can you put up a video please, using MSI Afterburner to record the 1% lows, average FPS, MIN/MAX FPS etc. Just copy my video, resolution etc and share the video over a whole round when its ready. :)

Here's a couple I uploaded today, first at 1440P (new resurgence map) second at 1080P (big original map)

Im too bored to setup afterburner, im mostly using nvidias overlay but I can't record that, are you okay with capframe? Im too bored to set that up but at least it tracks lows automatically :P

Come on, how can we compare if you never come through with the goods? :p

I want to see those 1% low numbers from a video recording, just like mine.

Here's the config file you can use so we use the exact same settings at 1080P/1440P. :)

But capframe does that no?
It'll take a few minutes to setup using MSI AB it's not complicated at all. Just capture the data with the MSI AB overlay running and show the GPU/CPU metrics and the 1% lows and FPS etc at the same settings I used.

The performance hit from recording video will be similar, but I know your average FPS will be lower but I am now really curious to see if under the same conditions as me, you have much better 1% lows over the course of a 10-20 minute round.

Im uploading a video, it's not 20 minutes long - got overrun by the bots :D

Used your settings file,, not sure if it worked cause resolution didn't change , i put it manually to 1080p. Should be up in 5 minutes

Yeah that’s DMZ need to go into resurgence Quads.
I had a feeling something was not quite right. Though I am sure he gets good numbers as he knows how to tune his hardware.

Yes it should do mate.
Played a round of quads, didn't use ltmatts settings (went back to mine) but shouldn't make much difference. Yes 1% were lower at points, lowest recorded was 157 but most of the time still stayed above 180. Uploading again but this one will take a while, it's more than a gigabyte and my upload is trash

We are talking about a stock 12900k mind you, so jufus ain't really wrong, a 13900k should blow both mine and the 3d out of the water in 1% lows.
