Well I scored myself a good deal on a Ryzen 7950X3D!

I wanted to move to AM5 Ryzen 7000 platform after further thinking and currently had an Intel Raptor Lake system. I was changing up components after good reports on AM5 system with higher end Asus boards having no RTX 4090 coil whine, so decided to switch after all the painful frustration with trying more than 10 RTX 4090s and all having too much coil whine even after trying. I thought of different mobos with 13900KS, problem is they are DDR5 as DDR4 choices are limited and I have had nothing but trouble with DDR5 XMP Stability especially on Asus boards with Intel 13th Gen, so had to make the switch

So I had put on the market through Facebook marketplace my 2 month old parts below:

13900KS for $600,

Asus Z790-A ROG Strix DDR4 mobo for $250,

T-Create 2 X 16GB Samsung BDie CL14 3600 RAM for $130

eVGA SuperNOVA T2 1600 watt PSU for $300

So if I sold all those parts for asking price, I would get $1280

But rarely do you get asking price especially on motherboards and RAM and eve power supplies on Facebook marketplace and I did not want to sell on ebay due to fees and ebay being awful to sellers in case anyone wanted to return as they always side with buyer even if buyer makes up excuse and is lying. So I figured I would discount them as a bundle for someone who wanted to buy them all for $1150 or maybe even go as low as $1100 or lower if need be.

SO I have someone come and they stated they were interested in CPU only and maybe the PSU. I asked them I had all parts and tried selling them how good the DDR4 I had was and it was the best DDR4 mobo. Then they stated or do you want to trade all your stuff for $600 plus a 7950X3D and then my mouth and eyes shot open with excitement and I immediately jumped on the deal. I got a slightly used 7950X3D plus $600. And given that brand new 7950X3Ds are going for well over $900 to even $1000 or more on ebay, and lowest priced one I saw was $850 on FB Marketplace and only 1 other for $1050, the one I have is worth at least $700 so made out better and got the CPU I wanted. Well I really wanted the 7800X3D, but it is not out until April and I do not want to wait. So I figured get the 7950X3D and disable non-3D CCD> Well waste of money I know, but not now after scoring a good deal.

So I got my better binned 7800X3D as I will disable 2nd CCD and it will be a 250MHz faster 3D cache CCD being 5250MHz than regular 7800X3D which has max boost of only 5000MHz

Over on the Fallout 4 drawcall thread @domdtxdissar was kind enough to post their scores with their 7950X3D.
The full scoresheet is over there
but here is a summary vs the next best score and Det0x's previous scores with the normal 7950X:

Pretty impressive. I think MS Flight loves Zen4 3D even more, but that is a huge uplift for Fallout 4 with Zen4 3D.

Would still like others to post there too - especially if someone is running at more of a stock settings - after all, stock performance was what was so impressive about the 5800X3D.

That engine is horrible.
tryin fallout76 wasnt a good experience.

We have 60 units due this week, I think they may already have arrived but we are currently moving into our new building as such deliveries are delayed at goodsin, hopefully the stock will be booked in this week, we have around 60 units due which covers back orders placed upto 9pm on the 28th February. :)
Do you have any way of knowing when you might be able to fulfil orders placed on the 5th March? its the last piece of the jigsaw I'm waiting on now, keep praying for that "your order has been shipped" email, the suspense is killing me :D

The 7900x3d looks sweet for sure. Saw a leak that said it would be a 25% performance uplift at 1080p vs zen4. Not sure how relevant this will be to 1440p and 2160p resolutions but it should be an nice increase for gaming. Only thing putting me off is the ridiculously high motherboard prices and DDR5 not being as good on AMD platform vs Intel in terms of max frequencies.
The motherboard price is really expensive.

i did yesterday some gaming.

somehow my 7950x3d managed to boost way higher than the 5250 on the 3d-cores... how is this possible?

Probably a false software reading, use HWINFO instead.

Wccftech just did a piece about software bugs still being around that causes high frequency readings on ryzen - one Russian user has actually managed to get 6.3ghz reading on his 7950x3d

Is the 7950X3D in a more limited supply than the 7900? As the only places I can find it have it marked up massively...

No idea about the supply but the demand for the 7950X3D is way higher than the 7900X3D

Everyone buying these is paying early adopter tax and the 7900X3D is the best at nothing but still very expensive.

The major reason to get X3D is games and the best is an 8 core X3D chiplet which the 7950X3D has and so will the upcoming and cheaper 7800X3D. There's only so many people who will pay a large premium to get a 6 core chiplet in the 7900X3D instead of the alternatives.

Plus if you get the 7900X3D you also get all the annoyances of having 2 different chiplets which the 7800X3D won't have.

At this time at these prices there's not much reason to get a 7900X3D so I see it as everyone with the cash jumping on the best model rather than the compromise model.
