I feel like after the 7950x3d launch I'm kind of not surprised? It felt like that's how many they got for that launch too.Crazy AMD delayed the launch to only end up launching 30 units and 11 units somewhere else.
And you type as though it can't be used for productivity. This was targeted for gaming and they done an exceptional job with it, less cores, less clockspeed, less power and giving intels best a good slapping. Its an impressive product.

Hopefully there's far more regular deliveries of the 7800 unlike the 7950 though. Otherwise you really have to wonder what AMD are actually doing.

Afternoon All I've decided to make this thread in the hope that it will help @Gibbo and reduce unnecessary enquiries to the OCUK Customer Support Channels. Please leave the following information in a post and I'll collate all information and hopefully @Gibbo can then update people on the...forums.overclockers.co.uk
New thread created for tracking pre orders of 7950X3D and 7800X3D please dont spam the new thread with useless info.
Sea freight can take a month, Air freight is expensive I can imagine the 7950X3D could justify the latterYeah in isolation makes me more cynical the delay was purely to upsell the other chips, than a genuine lack of supply. A month extra wait for quantities that low, just seems silly otherwise.
Bit confused about the 30 units coming today/tomorrow, are they expected to be shipped out when they arrive or can we only expect shipments starting next week. Gibbo said something about next week but also about 30 units so I am confused!
So, now I have secured a 7800X3D for my first gaming PC, I have a question. For the absolute quietest cooling, is a NH-D15 overkill? Or could I get away with something smaller from Noctua?
It will be next week, if it is this week then consider lucky but were now around 500 pre-sold, anyone ordering now won't see a CPU until May.
Thanks. I’ll look into other options. The rest of the system will be a Suprim X 4080 or 4090 (undecided), 32GB RAM, Corsair RM850x PSU, Gigabyte Aorus Elite AX motherboard, and a 2TB Western Digital SSD. I am going for a Phanteks G500A case for the airflow and acoustics. It’s barley a 90 watt part so definitely no need for a D15 and could be passively cooled. As for “absolute quietest” that will depend more on the rest of the system than the just the CPU.
