Will you be purchasing the 7800X3D on the 6th?

what's the idiot's guide to enabling PBO? i have a X670E Hero and a 7950X3D, and tbh i was done years ago with proper manual overclocking, cba with all the stability stress testing, and then having it fluff its lines randomly when idle. on this old 8700k i pretty much left it stock, XMP is on and it's set to boost all cores to 4.7, and i dialled down the LLC to 4. what are the similar "can't go wrong" settings on AM5? i have EXPO ram so i guess i will set that, is it then just PBO Auto and CO (whatever that is) Auto?

I've seen this board come up a couple of times now. I haven't seen anything negative about it and it even comes in at around £210, which is very reasonable.

What made you pick this one in particular?

I'm getting closer and closer! Although finding the G.Skill Neo 6000 CL30 in stock anywhere is proving a challenge. I may have to swap it for some Corsair Vengeance RGB stuff (which seems to come in a little cheaper too).

Not really fussed about RGB but I can stomach the RAM and GPU having some lights I guess.
I picked this board because it has the best VRM of the b650 m-ATX boards. They all have some negatives, the Gigabyte has the least of them.
I would really have liked to have seen a decent B650E board. It's just not there this Gen. Asus can shove the Gene where the sun doesn't shine at the price they are charging.
When PCI-E 5.0 becomes relevant, I'm sure the next gen AMD boards will have better features by then.

Yeah, got it today. Just make a ticket for it.
What game and how to claim one.? I bought 7800X3D April 13th.
Edit: No that’s wrong I ordered it on the 6th of April and it was delivered on the 12th.
Ok I know what game now and sent a ticket although I'm not sure if my order qualifies as the offer wasn't showing on the website back then.

All I did was enable PBO, go to Curve, set it to negative and put in 20. I'm actually running -25 now but it's solid. Running EXPO II for RAM.

Was about to buy a 7800x3d but stumbled on the framechasers review where he states games have bad 1% lows causing stutter, He calls it a amdip.
Anyone had this on their cpu?

Yep you should be fine, I ordered on launch day and got my code after raising a ticket.

You can get the non RGB on the American rain forrest site for $139 plus shipping.

Just got my AMD Rewards for Jedi Survivor, I assume since its pre release i'll get the actual game key on release? or has anyone got it early

Pleased to report that with the 1409 bios on the ASUS X670E TUF Gaming Plus I am able to enable EXPO II at long last with my Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB DDR5 6000 cl30 expo memory.
Hi, I'm getting the same board tomorrow hopefully. Did you have to change any settings to get EXPO working with the new 1409 BIOS? There was talk on Reddit about enabling Memory Context Restore in 2 places in the BIOS first, did you have to do this as well?

Yup.

Easiest way to find memory context restore is to use the search function in the bios if you have trouble finding it.

Expo works just by changing it in the advance menu.

Any trouble with installation tomorrow just leave a message here. it's quite an active thread so I'm sure you will get a quick response. There's a few of us on here with the same board and 7800X3D. :)

You redeem it on amdrewards.com, and it will become available when the game is released on the 28 April 2023.

Keeping an eye on your build I want the same case, can you let us know how you get on.
I'm close to pulling the trigger on the following unless anyone can suggest improvements:

7800X3D
NZXT Kraken X53 240mm AIO
Gigabyte B650M AORUS ELITE AX
Corsair Vengeance RGB 32 GB DDR5-6000 CL30
Western Digital Black SN850X 2TB NVME
Sapphire Nitro+ 7900 XTX
be quiet! Pure Power 12 M 850W PSU
ASUS Prime AP201 MicroATX Mini Tower Case

Total: £2464

I wanted to go for G. Skill Neo 6000 CL30 memory but it's out of stock everywhere in the UK (both the RGB and non-RGB versions).

Swapped from the Corsair RM850x to the be quiet! Pure Power 12 PSU as it's ATX 3.0 compliant / supports PCIE5. It's also slightly cheaper.

I did consider the tempered glass version of the AP201, but the PRIME wording down the side is really putting me off. I don't understand why they added it.

Will also go for some custom sleeve cables to top off the build (colour undecided).

New learnings, so slightly different timings than I've previously suggested.

This is based on running 6000C28Mhz.
  1. Dram VDD 1.45v (you might be able to lower this if the below is stable)
  2. DRAM VDDQ 1.35v (always keep 100mv lower than VDD)
  3. SOC is fine, but can try to lower to 1.25v-1.3v later
  4. VDDP is fine, but can try to lower to 1.100v-1.125v later
  5. Memory Context Restore and Power Down Mode Disabled - tolerate a ten second longer post time ;)
  6. If you won't disable Memory Context Restore, you need to leave power down mode enabled (these two features are mutually exclusive atm) and put up with the little latency penalty for doing so

Possible further improvements would be as follows:
  • RDDL 12
  • WTRL 24
  • RDRDSCL 5
  • TWRWRSCL 17
If that's okay, further improvements could be:

RDC 34 (not sure if this would be stable would need testing depends on DIMM quality)
TRP 34 (not sure if this would be stable would need testing depends on DIMM quality)
RAS 46
RC 80
RFC 472
RFC2 256
I’ve been following your improved timings for various RAM. Based on what you have recommended for others I think I could tweak mine a bit. Currently it’s running EXPO II.
