Now all major suppliers are showing in stock for 7950X3D and 7800X3D here in Switzerland.

Was AMD holding back stock all this time?
Seems like they're easy to find in the UK now too. It does feel like either AMD didn't have the stock for a real release, or they just had really big shipment problems considering there wasn't many 7950x3d deliveries up until this week.

Got a 7950x3d finally now it's actually available and have got it set up. So far it seems like its working well. The only real issue I had was bios flashback didn't seem to like my USB stick but fortunately the motherboard seemed to boot into the bios anyway despite being on a older pre x3d bios so I could just update the bios via the normal method anyway. EXPO (6000 c30 2x 16gb sticks) worked straight away with no problems as far as I can see from some quick stress tests, which is a big relief from my old AM4 board/cpu where I had to manually set timings and voltages for the ram/soc etc to get it all to work without crashes. I might still adjust the ram later but happy enough for the moment. I've not noticed any USB issues either so far, if anything it seems a lot cleaner with less popping from my usb sound card, something which I struggled for ages with on Am4 even after the bios fixes which was meant to solve all the USB problems. Admittedly this is also partially tied to the RAM issue too since the SoC voltages played a part in this as well. Hopefully AM5 keeps feeling a lot less messy than all that, lol.

Performance is a massive jump from my old 3900 CPU which you love to see.

Managed to order a 7800X3D - Now just need to look at motherboards and RAM. I haven't been keeping up-to-date much but which motherboards are people recommending / stay away from?

I went with a MSI one in the end after contemplating which one to get while the 7950x3d was unavailable for so long. A lot of people mention Asus so I was close to getting one of those, but there was a lot of reports of ram weirdness on them, and then there's also been a number of reports of x3d cpu's dying in their motherboards due to overheating/expanding, it just put me right off even though that might have been an isolated issue(I saw Steve from GN was asking those guys to send their cpu/mobo to them so we might get a video on it soon).

It really depends on the budget. a B650 would be the best option and most 6000 Mhz cl30 would work, maybe ones that have EXPO

£700-£800 would be the budget for motherboard/ram really. I'm not going to be doing any overclocking as such so it doesn't need to be the best motherboard can buy for that purpose.

I put in a request on Wednesday, had a response yesterday morning but still no code. It doesn't look like there is any particular order the codes are issued if some people are getting them so quickly. Where is the code email from, AMD?
Submitted a request before noon today and CS replied within an hour. Just be patient and I am sure you will get the code soon.

Did anyone experience issues redeeming their code? I got an error saying "coupon code limit has been reached. Contact Support to request an increase to this limit". I've raised a ticket with AMD but wondered if I was the only one?

They seem to only allow two redeems per account of any reward code ever, so you have to contact AMD Rewards support who will raise the limit for you. I guess it's to stop people from selling the keys on?
