I have 3 SATA drives that i intend to reuse in my new build so there is still a need to have them. Some of the more budget B650 boards only have 2.

The biggest issue i have with the Strix B650E-E is its' use of that intel i225-v Ethernet controller chip. I Know that intel have issued new firmware but I still see people have problems with them. Sadly it seems quite common on most of the high-end b650 boards.

Sounds like the AsRock Taichi boards may be the ones to look at then, ethernet chip is Killer E3100 and with 4 SATA ports. Saw good deals on the lite over BF and looks like its still available for under £260.

Speak of the devil, that G-Skill pair is exactly the RAM that I ordered, which arrived yesterday. Checked the serial numbers and such at the back and looks to be Micron A-Die too.

For folks not wanting the RGB, the exact same version without RGB is available, just take off the R at the end  .
F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5N

Pricing is almost the same but suprisingly a few pennies more than the RGB version.

On the motherboard hunt, I'm not seeing any drops to £250 for the Asus Strix B650E-E... but I have seen that OCUK are matching the current lowest price.
Considering I've had good experience going through support when RMA repairing my current board, it's looking like my most likely option will be OCUK.

Also seen the same pricing games on the case I want, was a tenner less and all time low this time last week, but seems to show no signs of going back to that price.
I may have to settle for paying a tenner extra...
Hey, just received my RAM today. F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5N.

I noticed it says date of manufacture on a nice shiny label saying: 2023/11/15.

I mean, that was a week before I ordered it. Did they make this just for me Ha!

That said, it probably doesn't make any difference, but not often I have seen a date that close before. My 4090 FE I picked up in June was from the end of last year!

Nice, my RAM was dated October 2023, so these fairly fresh chips out of the oven. I'm guessing the ID above the barcode on yours ends with an A? Which would indicate Micron A-die. Should be very stable running even beyond the EXPO settings.

Happy to report the ID indeed ends with an A. Might have to give buildzoids Hynix overclocking settings a go while I have the case open to clear cmos if needed.

If you share a Zen timings screenshot with me I can give you more performant timings that’ll give lower latency than Bullzoids.

Received my RAM earlier today. Same as yours but with with the model number ending in an "TZ5NR" i assume the R is for RGB

It's also a "2023 Nov" manufacture date, but no day is given. However the number above the barcode ends in an "M" so i assume it is M die.

I assumed those kits were more likely to be A die but not really sure. Someone with a review of your exact kit on YouTube has A die apparently. I found my exact manufacture date checking the serial number on g skills website. Doesn’t tell you much else though. Pretty sure the R is for RGB yeah. Should still perform well either way, as long as it’s Hynix.

Annoyingly I will have to wait to find out. I have the RAM and motherboard but I'm still waiting on the CPU. I ordered a 7900x that has still not been dispatched yet.

That’s my CPU too. I figured the x3d isn’t quite perfected yet and it’s a good middle ground between 8 and 16 cores. They can be cooler sometimes than 16 core too. Mine does -30 on curve optimiser and definitely recommend it. I get such better power usage and temps under just a gaming load.

had to format my pc and now when i try and install the gamebar for the ccx scheduling and non of the xbox gaming services are working. i followed all the steps i made before when i first installed this chip with the same win11pro media  has anyone had this happen i have reset all the ms gaming services but i still not log in to the game bar to see the options for the given game.

My point above proven

Have you updated all the apps in the MS Store?

i think i have updated all the ones that were available after signing in. i have followed the steps that were put up on here which worked a charm when i first got the cpu. looks like my trusty 7600x might be coming out for awhile hopefully stop the stuttering in vr :D

no matter what i did i could not get the x box game bar to update even after playing cyberpunk and checking for updates and such. so i installed half life alyx then remembered i own halo which is a xbox game , logged in then it proceeded to get past the loading i was stuck on to update xbox services then i could update game bar. Back to playing minesweeper now the dramas over what a day formatting with different versions of 11 pro

Which CPU? 7950X3D?
CCD scheduling on the dual core X3D chips (the fact that one has 3D v-cache and the other clocks higher) make the 7900X3D and 7950X3D less appealling.
Hence the ideal X3D chip atm is 7800X3D, if needing more cores, no point going for 7900X3D or 7950X3D (regular 7900 - 7950X should do).
Actually the non-X chips are pretty nice due to significantly lower temps and power draw for similar performance.

Go big or go home I say. Next time just use 3D v-cache on both CCDs to keep it simple.
