Poll: Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

Will you be purchasing the 7800X3D on the 6th?

Says there's almost no difference in fps between a 13900K and a 5800X3D in Cyberpunk.
Considering that (AMD claims) the 7000 X3D will be 10-25% faster than the 5800X3D I think the new X3D's will out perform the 13900K, even in Cyberpunk.

@stooeh Provided me with a save game file so here it is Tom's Diner on 7950X, 720P Ultra Ray Tracing preset but custom due to FSR disabled.
I actually get lower CPU utilisation in Toms diner than I did in the other clip, so I'm sure the developers could improve performance here with some engine optimisations. I was expecting this to use more CPU cycles not less. CPU usage dropped to 66% at one point and was in the high 60s/low 70s for most of the clip. In the previous area it was nigh on locked at 86% CPU usage with higher performance.
Thing to know about CPU % utilisation is that whenever it's high on a high core count CPU that usually just tells you there's a lot of asset decompression involved. That kind of multi-core usage is pretty much never because other aspects are brought into it - too many things are necessarily bound to one or two cores in the current way games can be designed. It going down at times concurrently with the fps also going down just indicates there's a bottleneck for a certain part of it, but which exactly is hard to say, it would require proper profiling tools. I imagine this will make for a nice comparison once the 3D chips arrive so we can see how much the extra cache can (if at all) alleviate that bottlenecking.

If you’re on intel you can use vtune to breakout the pipeline in detail. It’s a great tool and we have used elsewhere to determine tuning aspects and scaling. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/tools/oneapi/vtune-profiler.html#gs.osd7fn

Imagine how far reviews are from reality

You'll be told intel wasnt tuned , wasnt run at 720p and for cyberpunk they didnt go to toms diner at a set time

But we had users here with a 3d showing it struggled to go above 50 fps. Why are you ignoring those results, i wonder

I guess no amount of evidence will convince a biased individual.

fair enough if its faster its faster but I have no interest in that game
show me results with cod and battlefield with lows etc that would interest me more

But you made 3 posts already with excuses which is weird to me.

I have cod if someone is interested with the 3d to make some comparisons, in something like warzone 2?

@LtMatt if you wanted to share your HDZ benchmark data, my buddy did testing here recently: https://kingfaris.co.uk/blog/13900k-ram-oc-impact/horizonzerodawn We can compare the CPU FPS data. Be curious how much of a lead AMD still has here and see how X3D compares to your when it's out. He's on a 4090. All the settings details are on the page.
Perhaps these 2 presets if you have time?

  • 720p Favour Performance
  • 1080p Favour Quality
7950X SMT OFF (not tested SMT On)
7900 XTX Nitro Stock

720P Favour Performance

Vs those results you linked
