I’m surprised they aren’t more expensive. Maybe it’s because they’re not as good as people expect them to be. Something fishy’s going on.
I'm not so sure. I mean they priced their GPUs sky high despite the performance being pretty mediocre but having said that I don't expect the jump from zen4 > 3DX to be as large as it was for zen 3 due to the DDR5 memory being less of a bottleneck.

They can’t be too expensive they are already struggling with AM5 adoption rates. If they make them too expensive people just won’t buy in to it. And when I say people I mean reasonable people, not some of us lunatics who love to be abused by AMD/Nvidia *cries*.

I don’t think they are going to be bad, and the majority of people on here know what to expect in terms of performance. It’s the people that just think “look at the last 3d CPU, this one’s going to be much better”. I honestly think the people that have held off aren’t going to be disappointed comparing it to the rest of the recent lineup, but I have a feeling a small number of people might have the bar set far too high. I think it’s going to be a lot closer between Intel and AMD this time.

Price is not too bad and the wait is only another month extra. Quite eager to see how it stacks up to the cheaper 13600K.
This is why I don’t think it’s going to be as good an option against that especially. It’s priced lower than expected, but you have to compare it to the 13600k which is cheaper. Should be fun.

Looking forward to reviews. I’m only interested in gaming so if somehow 7950X3D schedules it’s cores really well out of the box so that you really can have the best of both worlds 3D or clock speed depending on what the game prefers, then I’ll just pay the extra and get that rather than wait for the 800. But we ain’t gonna know until reviews unless we get some juicy leaks.

I hope both you and uscool remember these posts when the reviews come out. Don't link any 720 and 1080p review and claim superiority for the 3d :D
I am very interested in the testing using 720p in Cyberpunk don’t get me wrong. I honestly think YouTubers should do such tests because the majority of the testing used is crap, but this argument has been done to death. Choose a CPU based on the games you play. If you want to play Cyberpunk and Horizon Zero Dawn get both :D

Well realistically with the 7800X3D being released on a Saturday (6th April) OCUK if they have sufficient stock will ship them out DPD on the Sunday Night. worst case for folks in Northern Ireland or Ireland its 2 working days for DPD to deliver. This effectively mean my new Ram and motherboard are going to sit untested and useless for another 10 Weeks!

Maybe the community should say **** *** and just buy the 7600X chips and hold out for a few months to AMD have stockpiles of unsold 7800X3D chips and cut prices to shift them.

It is very tempting to just buy a 7700x at this point, I think I’m going to wait for the 7900/50 reviews this month and make my mind up. I don’t really want to wait until April though.

My 5900x cost roughly that, a 7900x3D should be a pretty sizable performance bump for the same price. Though the am5 platform pricing can bite my arse.
I dont know, taking a quick look, the top endZ790 seems more expensive then X670 but Z790 is £50 cheaper then X670 on the low end, not really that much in it
