Will you be purchasing the 7800X3D on the 6th?

Why is everyone so bothered about power? My 7700x uses less power than my mildly overcooked 4790k. Intel power usage is laughable compared me one of the reasons I never considered them for my recent build

So you are bothered about power after all :D

Would be amusing if the 7950x3d gaming performance is lower can't imagine they would do that

What makes you think it would be higher?

It's the cores right? More cores? Same power limit. What you gonna do with more cores and the same power limit in games.

If they did that then that would hurt the resale value as I don't think gamers would want to pay more. Looking to offload my future 7950X3D when the Zen 5 X3D launches so I hope this is not the case!

There would be zero point in launching it if so. The productivity performance will be worse than the 7950x so if the gaming performance is also worse (or even only handful of percent better) nobody would bother buying it.

Not long to wait to see what the actual boost clock of the cached ccd is

It will still be faster in gaming over the none x3d skus , but would be weird if slower than 7800x3d , at least in few days we will know what the cached ccd boost clocks are

Not THAT weird
there are a few games where 5800X beat 5950X and 7700X beat 7950X. Single CCD topology and more power budget per core

I always thought the reason for the 7800X3D delay is trying to get better clocks, or to reduce the amount of clock reduction they have to do.
They want this to be the gaming champ, so needs to perform at it's best.

I can't think of any other reason why they would delay it, relative to the other chips.

I predict some bad reviews for these chips...
Because of how well the previous 3D performed people have very high expectations. The whole way it’s been dealt with from reveal to release and also the price being lower than expected could well mean they aren’t the second coming of Christ that a lot of people are expecting.

Judging from previous releases on both sides the performance is pretty predictable. It will win some, mainly where the cache works well, and lose some, especially if the clocks do end up being lower. It doesn't seem to warrant being a big mystery. It's not going to be the ultimate CPU for everything some seem to think, especially in gaming, unless there is something else going on we aren't aware of.

They can make higher sales on the higher core chips by holding back on the release. If all 3 were released at the same time I would buy the 7800X3D but will probably buy the 7950X3D as I don’t want to wait to build my new system.

I agree entirely. This is why they are doing this as if they released them at the same time no one would be buying the more expensive cpu.

Everyone buying this isn’t interesting in productivity but is more interested in gaming performance.
