Maybe it is the non 3D cores at 5.4, seems unlikely that the 3D cores would be at 5.4, could be wrong though.

Bit annoying if the 7950 runs at 5.4 and the 7800 only at 5.0, that would mean they are artificially limiting the 7800 to make the 7950 more appealing.

5.4ghz cached ccd Vs 7800x3d 5ghz to give edge in gaming performance for the 7950x3d

Makes sense they want the highest tier product to be the fastest overall how much by soon to be found out

Well if that is the case it does mean they have artificially limited the 7800 which is not great.

TBH I have a feeling that the 3D cores will not be 5.4Ghz, although as I said I could be wrong.

But the 7800x3d will be cheaper ?

You can say the same to any lower tier product, be it cpus/ GPUs from intel / AMD/ Nvidia

They would be running at 5.7GHz though. It’s just a screenshot so not confirmation of either. Not long to wait for those reviews.

Not necessarily. The chips may be binned for the 7950X3D or not exactly the same.

That is false. The 12900k was using RT, the 3d isn't, since the xtx cannot hit 136 fps with RT on
And of course it's a different scene

It's not even the same gpu, I wouldn't try to compare his two images. The one with the 7950x3d is using an 7900xtx and the 12900k system is using a rtx3090. After doing a check with HUB. In this game the 7900xtx is about 35% faster than the rtx3090 at 1080p ultra and RT off. So most of the differenc between the 7950x3d and 12900k images is down to the GPU

That picture has the second CCD loaded.
The first CCD has the vcache, the second one is the regular one. We know this from physically seeing the hardware, it is visually distinct.
