Hi there

I can see plenty of floor, can even reach from the top of the engine bay and nearly touch the floor, there is plenty of space to move around in, hence why its possible to add this kit without too much fuss. :)

Mustangs must have upgrades in mind then hehe

Seriously though, sounds great what you've done, I have to come along to a meet one day just to have a nose in on that machine of yours, since seeing it, and of course going to America to see them.. I have fell in love with them :)

Hi there

Well not sure if it is Mustangs or just Americans.
There is several supercharger kits, turbo kits, cam kits amongst many other modifications available for the Mustang. :) Though in the US its a very popular car.

So was the supercharger install the reason the alternator had to be mounted backwards, or is it that way stock?

Other than that I can't really tell it's not factory from the pics :p

HI m8

Yep thats correct. The kit comes with a new bracket, studs and nuts so you can mount it backwards so everything fits nicely. :)

As an old Aussie friend of mine would say - "Bonzer, mate. That's cracking!!" :D

Wish I owned a car worth doing that kind of work to, but alas anything that nice went far away when I got married. ;)

Yeah, could be much worse I guess, at least it;s not just a mass of plastic covers. I'm just used to being able to see large amounts of floor though the engine bay. I guess it's just one of those things you have to put up with when you have a huge engine:D.

The first time I had to touch the Shuv's engine, I felt like I could have climbed in there with it :/

First time I did a tune up on my Jeep, I DID climb in there with it. I stood with one leg on each side of the front axle and plunked my arse on the fender liner. It was raining and I didn't feel like getting wet!! :p

Hi there

Well I finished it off yesterday morning and evening. Its all back together now!

So I turned the ignition on, BUT NOT ENGINE! The new intercooler pump kicked in and the system ran so all airlocks gone from the coolant system.

However then ufortunately I could smell fuel and noticed that the injector at front of car on drivers side was leaking, nooooooooooo!

Upon closer inspection obviously when removing the old injectors the port on the fuel rail got slightly bent out of angle causing to much straing on the injectors. :(

So early this morning I tried my best to put the port back in the correct position. So placed an old injector back in the port and gently but with plenty of force bent it back into place. Now it lines up much easier and there is NO LEAKS!!

Next stage is to flash the ECU and start the car up, fingers crossed! Just waiting for the damn tunes to arrive!

Nice one Gibbo. This looks like a great project and well done for having a go yourself. How much power are you looking at after everything is done?

A car in the US with exact same setup and same headers/exhaust as me is making 540BHP and 560Lb-Ft.

However that is dyno tuned and properly setup. As my tune is email it will be conservative and I will be happy with anything between 480-520BHP and similar torque level. :)

Even the professionals get that - I once watched a scoob being worked on at Zen Performance (Pavlo/Paul Blamire's company) start ****ing fuel all over the floor when they turned it over. Similar problem: the seal on one of the new injectors had got caught slightly on insertion. Good work mate.

Drex - as a tangent, do you know the dimensions of a 12A and whether it's 'front' or 'rear' sumped?

*n

Not personally familiar with the 12A, but if it's like the 13B the sump is neither 'front' nor 'rear', it's equal all along the bottom of the engine. As for size, once stripped of ancillaries the 13B has a footprint not much larger than a couple of sheets of A4 paper side by side.

Hi there

Well just drove home in the car. No strange smells or anything, all pressure and temperature levels same as normal. :)

Now I've not properly tried the performance as I want to run it in and not overcook it either.

But needless to say flooring it in 2nd at the moment results in some sideways action on some road surfaces.

3rd pulls harder than 2nd did previously before the S/C installation. Plus the cars seems to pull harder from 2500rpm then it did previously past 5000rpm.

Upto now I've not gone past 4000rpm as its damn SCARY and I want to run it in. Plus the sound it makes is just sooooo amazing. Now just fingers crossed it runs OK and no problems develop. :)
