S2000 AP1 Replacement Suggestions

I had an S2000 and had to sell if for financial reasons, when I could once again afford a performance car I ended up going for the Mk5 Golf GTi.

The only reason I didn't get another S2000 was the criteria for more seats, if I didn't need back seats I would gladly trade my GTi in for an S2000, best car I have ever owned, miles better than the Golf.

I really miss my S2000 :(

Great dampers on these in my experience. The early ones are underdamped on the rear

I think mine have seen better days although it's been ages since I've driven another stock one that's fresher. Tempted to get some given I already have unfitted eibachs from months ago.

That's very cheap for an 04 car. Too cheap even....

At the risk of a thread hijack... Similar criteria to the OP (bar mileage really) and I ended up with another S2000 as mentioned was a possibility before...

Slightly dodgy idle when warm but I'll give it a full service, valve adjustment and then idle relearn. Hopefully it'll sort it :)

Feel like I've got a roadtest sat on my driveway right now mind! Need to get the Z4 ready for sale asap :)

Looks good. As much as the Z4 is a nice car the side by side goes to show just how more timeless the S2000 design is. The facelift still looks fresh IMO.

I too had to sell it because of financial reasons, now I have a Kia Rio 1.1crdi, FML :(

Blatant picture pimping, but every time I consider selling I remind myself why I don't. 11 years old now! :o Drollic, spend some money on yours and keep it!

I on the other hand am very glad I moved on, fun car, but once old age settles in the rawness and lack of creature comforts will eat away at your resolve. For a start the colour difference of the perpetually rotting soft top will eventually drive you mad :p

Mine lives underground out of the wet now! :p

Can you not see the black of your paint work no longer matches the black of your hood? I'm not picking holes the old z4 was equally awful, but unless you spend £50 a month on dye you are chasing rainbows.

my mates struck the killing blow when then chained mine up with cable ties and I lacked the torque to break them

:p

See what you mean with hood discoloration, but mine isn't Berlina Black either :p Plus in the summer...you can't see the hood...or at least - shouldn't.

hood down with the bra on it it looks so much better, roof up always felt like an after thought, can't deny the body is epic though  I just wanted a more mature model to polish the rawness away and make it a car for all seasons :)
